Nobel Peace Prize Goes to Colombia’s President, Santos

Manuel Santos, president of Colombia, was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his negotiation and agreement to end the 52 year war with the communist FARC.  The agreement was voted down earlier this week by Colombians, but President Santos and the FARC are maintaining the ceasefire while new negotiations continue.

They’ve got till the end of the month to come up with a more palatable arrangement.

Still its nice to see someone get the Peace Prize for actually accomplishing something.

  1. Hey, I’ve got a neighbor on one side with a Bernie sign in his yard and a neighbor on the other side with a Johnson/Weld sign in his. I should get some kind of award.

  2. “portrayed the president as a ‘traitor’ willing to excuse the FARC’s crimes just to get a deal.” He must have been one of the key negotiators for our deal with Iran.
