Every new Republican presidential candidate is held up by liberals as a right-wing extremist who would make Mussolini blanch. Then a decade later, he’s revived again as a “voice of moderation” and Democrats start comparing themselves to him.
Obama compared himself to Reagan. Bernie Sanders compares himself to Eisenhower. Even Goldwater went from being a horrifying warmonger to a “voice of moderation” a long time ago.

Speaking of past (passed) president’s, doesn’t anyone recall that today is the 52nd anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the formerly adored Democrat?
Yes. While visiting my husband’s grandfather one year, granddad was showing off his horde of fruitcake of Christmas’ past stored in his freezer. One cake was labeled “November 22, 1963.” That was the date on which it was baked. I excitedly pointed out that he and grandmother were making fruitcakes on that fateful day. I have a small slice of that fruitcake and the original paper note with the date resting now in my freezer. Very odd way of remembering JFK’s assassination date, but that fruitcake seems to bracket time in some strange way.
Are democrats going to bring back waterboarding to get information or do democrats still advocate the Obama doctrine of indiscriminate murder of everyone by drone?

Mussolini was not a right winger. Not even close. Impossible to take this article seriously even if I were to agree with the overall premise. When conservative display ignorance about their own or the progressive histories, then they hurt the effort to promote our side of the debate.
I wonder if George W. will make a public statement about how he was demonized by the left his entire presidency and what a bunch of hypocrites they are using him now in an ad to make a point against his own party.
But I’ll bet the farm he’ll come out and bash Ted Cruz instead.
