  1. In the late 90’s we build a lot of parts for Tomahawks and Cruse Missiles for Raytheon Missile and Space.

However the Ruskies have one they call Kalibr missile. It flies 4 feet off the ocean at up to Mach 3. It’s been deployed for a while. I hope someones come up with a solution for that thing.

  2. Fur, I saw what you did there. “One Weird Trick”.

Perhaps the single most prevalent topping on cheap internet ads.

It’ll lower my insurance rates, make me immune to cancer, or make my penis larger.

  3. Assad knows our next 60 can drop on wherever he sleeps these days.
With some bunker busters to ensure No Survivors.
There’s a defense contractor on Dulles Corridor outside D.C. Huge office building with giant “Bunker Busters” logo proudly displayed.
    I always smile.

NRA HQ is also nearby (I-66). Best free antique/historic firearms museum in the country. World class indoor gun range, too.

  4. Back when I was involved with Raytheon I learned there are 4 ship defense systems. Can’t remember the two long range ones. Our primary focus was Sea Sparrow, which was fairly close in. Very very old missile. The phalanx is a last ditch attempt at saving the boat. And it can’t catch something moving Mach 3. Even if it did it would be so close in the majority of the missile would hit the hull.

  5. Zero Hedge as some video footage from Russian news outlets that show the damage and it looks like they hit maybe one jet out of an array of jets on the runway and a number of jets under concrete bunkers clearly did not get hit (except for 1)
This missile strike is clearly for the news media because it looks like it did nothing.

  6. I am certain the Admiral Grigorovich frigate is very aware there is at least one very silent, very deadly boat lurking in the water near the Ross and Porter.

  7. Of course Russian state media is portraying the strike as ineffectual.

Most of my naval info comes from JANE’S and old Tom Clancy novels 😎.
But I’m pretty confident the USN pro’s did not waste those 60.

And yeah, I’m ready to stop reading about some Irani amateurs taunting us with mock suicide runs.

  8. I’m pretty sure there are some friendlies loitering about
in the med listening topside. My first ninety days at sea
were with the 6th fleet Libyan task force in ’86. That was
a real shit show. There was a much larger USSR presence there
    then.

  9. No, I meant “in” the water. Not floating “on” the water. Not buried in the sea bottom “under” the water. In the water.

And, not at all meaning to start a dictionary battle. Just having fun with words this morning Bad_Brad.
