Parade of Bankruptcies and Closures

Granite Grok

You can tell when you’ve got a Democrat President in a bad economy. You don’t hear that much about the rise ein bankruptcies and stores going out of business. There have been a lot of them. The response to the Wuhan Flu killed off a lot of businesses, as did the harm done to the supply chain, but even those cannot compare to the rising cost of doing business and inflation.

Lumber Liquidators is closing all of its remaining stores (442 total) with about 342 still operating).

It is not the only home improvement and furniture chain to be affected. Appliances retailer Conn’s HomePlus is closing all its 170-plus stores stores

Meanwhile, Badcock Home Furniture & More said in July it is shutting all 380 stores. The 120-year-old retailer was based throughout the southern US. …

There were almost 2,600 store closures in the first four months of 2024. If that trend continues, almost 8,000 will have been lost by the end of the year. more

  1. I might add that we’ve been in business for approx 40 years. We’ve always catered to the defense/aerospace market. And these are the strangest times I’ve ever seen. It’s like every ones given up or something. Vendors won’t get back to you on quotes, could give a shit about a delivery date. Weird shit. One of our friendly competitors and I were talking last week and he’s seeing the same thing. You now need a dedicated person just to stay on top of your vendor base. If Trump doesn’t get re elected this economy is done for.

  2. There is an ever shrinking middle class to buy from these places. The cash is being looted from all places just like every goddamn turd world country. Because that’s what we are now. We’ve just still got vestiges of the once functional civilization still around.

  3. Brad – I’ve noticed a definite mood of gloom and lack of motivation. It’s as if people are anticipating the arrival of a disaster. And, if the left succeeds in stealing the election, it will indeed be a disaster. People are on edge and see no future and collapse if Kamala is elected. Reminds me of the title of an old movie, “Something Wicked This Way Comes”.

I’ve told you before, and the same hold true, I have never seen any FMS (foreign military sales) solicitation for Ukraine. That’s more than fing strange for a country at war using our shit. In fact beyond impossible.
