patches the crosswalk dog

JERSEY SHORE, Pa. – The Jersey Shore Area School District just fired its most beloved crossing guard.
EAG– For the past two years, school contractor Brad Curtis brought his Multipoo dog Patches with him to help students safely cross Allegheny Street in Jersey Shore, and students grew to love the pooch. But when students returned to class this year, Patches and his custom orange safety vet and big red stop sign were missing in action, WNEP reports.

“Patches is missing,” Jersey Shore resident Amy Wampler said. “We didn’t see him this morning and we wondered why, and now he’s not here.” more

  1. These days, Lassie would never have warned the police about the dam that was about to burst, stopped the runaway train or saved Timmy from the abandoned mine shaft. She would be unable to fill out the proper forms, post the million dollar catastrophic liability bond or comply with EPA regulations regarding dog poop.

The USA has a giant stick up its ass – sideways – stuck there by politicians and lawyers, who are 99.9999% of the time, one and the same.

  2. “Your dog is outside of our Conformation Policy. Permission denied. Resubmit in 90 days!” To hell with these minions of satan. We shall feed them to the hogs and celebrate with bacon!

  3. I’m not surprised nor do I disagree with the authorities. In the last 20 or 30 years the US has become Lawsuit Crazy. People figure that a lawsuit against a corporation or government is the way to easy street and that attitude is encouraged and enforced by the legions of lawyers out there today. Watch some of the TV commercials for these ambulance chasing f*ckers. The pooch could have stayed in his job (and I’ll be cash money that since he lost his job that is one depressed dog) if US lawmakers had the balls to introduce real tort reform. Hell, the price of everything would drop. Part of the problem is most of your elected officials are lawyers themselves and the lobby group for the American Bar Association is possibly the most powerful on the hill and pretty well drives a lot of the Democrat Party as well as a lot of Republicans.

Before anybody mentions it up here we are starting to see the same type of sleazy lawyers, doing similar, but not yet as bad, advertising. Having said that we have limits and rules in place that seem to stop the worst of it.
