The assailants wore black clothing and masks, and were engaged in a counter-protest against several right-wing groups, including the Proud Boys. Ngo is a well-known chronicler of antifa activity, and has criticized their illiberal tactics on Fox News. He attended the protest in this capacity—as a journalist, covering a notable public event.

According to Ngo, his attacker stole his camera equipment. But video footage recorded by another journalist, The Oregonian‘s Jim Ryan, clearly shows an antifa activist punching Ngo in the face. Others throw milkshakes at him:

  2. there are reports that the ‘milkshakes’ were really ‘quick-set’ concrete, so used to cause chemical burns to their intended targets.
    I don’t get it- they are obviously fascists themselves, and what is going on is reminiscent of the ‘brownshirts’ in 1930’s Germany. They are organized, funded and they wear uniforms. They are enemies of the state and appropriate response is warranted.

  3. I chose to not attend political rallies because I CCW and worry I may have to shoot threatening antifa. I try to avoid trouble.

    Antifa may run across someone else less accommodating. They should keep that in mind as the election approaches. We will not tolerate Brown Shirts in America.

Whether puppets of the leftist organizations which write their paychecks or murderous thugs Hell bent to perpetrate their paramilitary training on the innocent people in their communities. Law abiding citizens don’t stand a chance.

  14. For starters the Mayor should be hauled off in cuffs as well as the cowardly chief of police.
    This would be a good case for sending in federal authorities to make mass arrests and declare a curfew. The city leaders should all face massive fines for failure to enforce the law.
    It’s clear that those in control of the local government are quietly condoning the ANTIFA movement.

    And why do the police and courts never seem to deliver any meaningful consequence for them in the few instances they actually arrest one or some of them? Remember all those inaugural rioters that were charged with felonies then, after people had lost interest, in them just turned loose with no prosecution?)

  23. All the good Portland cops don’t work in the Portland area if at all possible because of this kind of stuff. Yes there are some very good ones.
    Portland PD can’t find enough qualified people to work for them and are busy lowering their standards.

    They yell and scream about no fascism.
    While they behave like fascists.
    They demand free stuff from wealthier people and the government, which is gotten by fascism and leads to more extreme fascism and communism.
    And so brave and individual covering their faces and all dressing alike.
    One of my sons got beat up by a thug here in Maine but these low iq idiots tend to avoid states where you don’t have your second amendment rights taken by the fascist government.
