Julián Castro’s Democratic presidential campaign met a self-imposed fundraising goal, but still faces an uncertain future as staffers look to flee.
Officials are telling staffers they are free to look for other jobs as the campaign shifts its focus to specific states, according to a CNN report. Castro is not planning on dropping out in the foreseeable future, according to the report, but is being clear with his staff that the campaign is struggling, and that some of them may soon be facing termination.
“In pushing to keep Secretary Castro’s critical voice in this race, our campaign, like many others, will make adjustments in staffing and resources,” his national press secretary told CNN. “This race is shifting as we speak, and Julián will continue to be fearless and defy expectations by making the most of our resources.” read more

The R field was just as crowded but candidates failed because they couldn’t hold up against another R candidate. The D field is falling apart under the weight of each candidate’s own failings. They all have the same approach to policy — such that it is; so that’s not the reason as far as I can tell. They simply run out of gas; they can’t generate enough interest (=dollars) to finish the race.

Let’s be thankful that America just wasn’t ready for all these losers who thought that we wanted them to save us from President Donald J. Trump. Once the list is winnowed down to two or three candidates, voters will clearly see how far removed their economic proposals and ideas about social justice are from mainstream America. Thank you President Elect Hillary Rodham Clinton for deciding it would be really smart to let someone who wasn’t even a Democrat join in those debates. Bernie Sanders is the Phantom of the Demographic-Socialist Party. He’s the Party Wrecker they can’t unmask without exposing how disastrous his Socialist/Communist programs would be for our country.

I am so delighted that 20+ democrats tossed their fedoras in the Presidential ring and at least 99.9%, just as in a ring toss at a carnival, rarely are their any winners. And that doesn’t even include the frosting on the ring toss.
