Sarah Palin on McCain’s score-settling: ‘A perpetual gut-punch’

American Thinker: Instead reconciliation and forgiveness, Senator John McCain is choosing score-settling and cruelty as the theme for the final chapter of his life.  And in so doing, he is inflicting emotional pain:

Sarah Palin said Thursday that Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) admission that he regrets picking her as his running mate in his failed 2008 presidential bid is “like a perpetual gut-punch.”   more here

  1. Sarah was the most positive aspect of his miserable campaign.
FOAD already, ya bitter, self absorbed, progtard in conservative clothing. Your headstone should be a toilet.

  2. I voted for Palin with the very sincere hope the excitement of winning would make her first official act as POTUS overseeing Benedict McArnold’s state funeral by the end of the January.

  3. Can you imagine what a dull, boring, disaster a campaign without Sarah would have been? Sarah was Trump before Trump, and opened the window into the deep state. Too bad so many people were so stupid.

  4. Before midSep ’16 I was going to vote McC. Mid Sep a conservative asked Johnny about Bush financing Al Quada/Taliban/ISIS by not drilling in NAWR. Johnny gave a 5,000 equivocation which will I summarize.
“I care not if 10,000 Americans are killed by ISIS and 100,000 are maimed. That is the price we must pay to keep ANWR clean!”

Because of the “Palin Bounce” they were leading in some polls midSep and close in the rest. After Johnny backed Bush in putting a near zero value on American warriors conservatives either voted against John or stayed home!

  5. I, like many, was only motivated to vote for the ticket because of her.

To me, the disgraceful treatment of her by the media-left-DC establishment cesspool was the final point of departure to realize that there is no reconciliation possible with the left.

As a famous animated rabbit once said, “Of course, you know this means war”

  6. Sarah brought him more conservative votes than he would have had with any other running mate. Most of us were actually voting for her. If he hadn’t been licking Obama’s ass along with the left and the press, and instead taken a more aggressive and adversarial approach, he may have even won. There was plenty of dirt on Barry in ’08, he just didn’t have the stones to bring it to light.

  7. I voted for her.
Watching what the media and McStain’s handlers did to her made me really start paying attention. Late 2008 and all of 2009 was a real eye opener for me.

  8. He’s bitter because he knows the only positive thing about his presidential run was Sarah Palin.

Staring at the six foot hole and still doesn’t realize how Judgement figures into his existence. Sad. Stupid.

  9. Ya know, when you have a circle of friends as large as our Presidents, you hear things.
It has been speculated for years about Songbird.
I heard from some pretty good sources, not all was true.
Just like Kerry, he is flawed, still they both rose as high as the Peter Principle could take them.
The world now knows how badly they suck at their job.
Eisenhower, neither is fit to shine his boots.

  10. I wonder if he saw “Chappaquiddick”? Probably scares him knowing “Songbird” will eventually be the movie made about him. Hiding your past and your true beliefs is a proactive activity and now there will be no one left to do that for him. The HBO special, the book etc. will not erase the truth.

  11. From the moment it was announced she would be the republican VP candidate, the left/press has been on a non-stop jihad against her and her family. And 10 years later it hasn’t stopped. From making fun of her special needs son, to frivolous lawsuits, to breathlessly reporting every minor family incident far out of proportion. They will never stop punishing her for having the audacity to run as a female republican.

  12. Mean spirited and hateful. Apparently he is not interested in leaving this world with reconciliation in his heart, only that bitterness and hatred.

So many gave up so much for him, made so much extra effort for him, all while he himself seemed to want to lose, at times practically campaigning for Obama. I’m not the greatest fan in the world of Palin (I do like her, though), but what was done to her was absolutely wrong and he doesn’t seem sorry at all, not even so close to death.

God have mercy on his soul.

  13. I have nothing but respect for Ms. Palin. She was the reason I voted for the ticket. She is a leader and a true conservative. She has style and grace.

I don’t care what McCain thinks. She was a great pick for the party and the American people. Thank you Sarah for all you have done for us.

  14. Had A**H*** McCain’s father and grand father not been Admirals
    He would have been
    Court-martialed, imprisoned and dishonorably discharged.
    Instead
Every smelly democrat on Capitol Hill wants to tell you
What a hero and honorable statesman he was
And they’re telling you that only because
He sucked up to and on them !

  15. @Moe Tom:

An Officer and a Gentleman? My ass.

    Mine too, Moe Tom.
As for being an officer and a gentleman, the only basis for that is that he was so declared by a dishonorable pack of congressvermin.

  16. Walpurgis,
He truly is Grima Wormtongue, right to the very end. He’s lied to and manipulated the old people and veterans of Arizona for years, he’s thrown people like Sarah under the bus and stabbed them in the back time and time again. And now, at the end of his life when most would show him compassion, he hisses and snarls and spits at them as he drags his belly along the ground.

What a horrific and depressing way to behaves before death. It’s as if he doesn’t care about his soul at all.

  17. Not perpetual…the end is near. And when it comes, Sarah is classy enough to go to the funeral and be gracious. That will show who is the hero and who is the tiny, hateful man.

  18. Many GREAT comments on this thread, too many to give kudos to!

My Senior Command and the troops here are big SP fans. It was very difficult to watch the U(SELESS)MSM railroad her and her troops. SHE put up a good DAM fight. Don’t worry her, her ‘real moment in the sun’ will come and she WILL be vindicated.

Never will forget when a friend and I came to the realization we would have to vote for him and hold the nose.

Whatever those maggots, in the HH, put up that rectum it is evidently still stuck there.

    This is not graphic!

Bitterness, like the Mind…in the end…is a terrible thing to waste…

  19. I NEVER VOTED FOR McCAIN

I knew he was a liberal scumbag not worthy of killing off the Republican party with his disastrous ideas and foreign policy.

It was better to not vote at all and allow the do-nothing Obama to bench-warm.

  20. Answer me this: After seeing what he is made of re: his treatment of Sarah Palin, who has been steadfastly loyal ti him – How can anyone in their right mind not believe at this juncture that his “war hero” status is bullshit with a cherry on top?

The dirty motherfucker dry shaved the Republican base he was mining for votes at every turn, usually when the chips were down. A person simply cannot undergo such a paradigm shift in their core makeup… period, full stop. End of story. That my friends is in the public record, not the backroom double-dealing aspects of it, but the results, and the smiles on the faces of those he worked behind the scenes with, speak for what he had been up to.

It might, just might, be a little different if he had not campaigned, and made explicit promises, with regard to the issues this snake in the grass has back stabbed those he had been saying things designed to gain their confidence and votes. But the dirty rotten somnabitch has done every Goddamned time he has had the chance.

Such practiced deceit and treachery simply does not come about in mid life, it essential to a person’s very character and is ingrained in the very nature of the bastard, it is how he is wired.

I have given this sorry excuse for a human being decades of thoughtful consideration and his actions belie the essence of the despicable nature of this despicable excuse for a human being.

I could carve a better man out of a banana than this two-faced, lying, deceitful bastard has ever been and that extends right through the time he spent the military.

    Think about it.

  21. What a bitter turncoat of a man. He is revealing himself to be a very small man. A back biting prick of a man. He couldn’t exit the scene fast enough. When is he going to step down, already?

  22. “I attribute a lot of what we’re hearing and reading regarding McCain’s statements to his ghostwriter or ghostwriters,” Palin told the Daily Mail, saying she would have to hear from McCain herself.

    There is hope.
