Seattle’s Cost of Living Index is Soaring

Beer, burgers and haircuts: Seattle hits new high for cost of living, and it’s not just housing

Seattle rents now rank among top 5 most expensive in U.S.; Tacoma joins $1,000 club

It’s a mess. There’s homeless lining the streets in tents, and it costs 53% more to live there for the people actually cashing a paycheck. This is what everyone wants, to pay a premium to have the privilege of hopping over human feces after you get your 30 dollar haircut, and landing in a puddle of urine.

Good thing it rains a lot there.

  1. Don’t forget about the liberal mindset that infects just about every company and co worker or friend plus the horrendous traffic!

I miss Seattle of 1987-1999. Those were good years.

  2. It’s not unlike an individual that suffers from a mental disorder. As they begin slipping into deeper psychosis their appearance begins to change. Personal hygiene and clothing all show inattention until a once attractive person becomes unrecognizable.
The same goes for cities suffering under liberalism.

  3. All I know is if I go to a Mariners game this year I won’t be eating or drinking anything while I’m at Safeco Field. I can afford tickets for the ball game but the extortionate rates they charge for food and drink are obscene. And we won’t stop and get something to eat in Seattle either, that’ll have to wait till we head home. Food row in Ellensburg as usual.

  4. Born and raised there. Hardly recognize it now, even down to the street level of my old stomping grounds. Plus, the people there now are so pathetic.

My theory is that just as Seattle becomes the most expensive, self-flagellating, socialist utopian armpit in the world, a combined 9.0 Cascadia subduction quake will trigger a 7.5 on the Seattle fault and level, burn, and sink the place.

No wonder Bezos wants another headquarters.

  5. “Read my lips…shithole”

More like piss soaked and shit smeared. It is on full display to anyone’s with the guts to walk from the sports stadiums to Seattle Center. The stench is like walking along an open sewer in a third world shithole country. Perhaps that is why progressives went apoplectic last week over the use of the word to describe countries where their politics reins supreme, it also applies to where they have political control right here in America.

  6. It’s sad to see what were once beautiful cities fouled by the mental disease of liberalism. How far can they slip into the depths of depravities before they’re unrecoverable? Historically the pendulum swings both ways but will it swing in time? Can these cities recover from their lunatic financial policies? This remains to be seen.
At no time should federal funds be used to bail out the cities/states ongoing mismanagement. A bail out would simply be unfair to the ret of us who properly manage.

  7. Shit and piss from street people go into the storm drains, and into the ocean.
Seattle, you are a blight on the environment; allowing your liberal policies to funnel raw sewage into Earth’s beautiful oceans.
    Shame.

  8. Way back in 1956 Stanley and Madelyn specifically moved to the Seattle area so that their daughter could attend the most “progressive” schools in America. They wanted “Ann” to be raised in a community that shared their communists values.
Stanley Ann left Seattle for Hawaii in 1960 and the rest is history.
