Doug Powers:
Senator Bob Menendez’s corruption trial starts in a couple of weeks, and his legal team has requested that this particular potential swamp draining be put on hold on certain days so Menendez can attend Senate votes. The response from federal prosecutors is a solid gold old-school a$$ kicking. Read it here
I like this judge.
Agrees to blab in exchange for a reduced charge, becomes another statistic on the clinton hit list.
Hey, it’s a good fantasy….
Ouch!
In other words, can I drag this out until my side wins again and I will get a pass.
Well done, and I wish this statement could be retained for re-use for all of the politicians who should be brought up on charges. I too am sick to death of “the elite” being excused from application of the law. Of course, charges would need to be made, and seems like we never get past the point of show-investigations.
New Jersey. The best politics money can buy.
Statement by “federal” prosecutors;
“A bedrock principle of our criminal justice system is that the law does not recognize wealth or title.”
This statement by the federal government is laughable. It should be the rule but, in case after case the federal government has failed miserably to properly investigate and prosecute the “elite”.
The dual judicial system, one for citizens and another for the likes of the Clintons, Holder, Rice, Obama, Lois Lerner, Podesta, McCain, Rangel, Waters, and scores of other corrupt government appointees and elected officials reflects the Government’s statement to be a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive.
The conviction of Menendez is not a litmus test of the criminal justice system’s statement that the law does not recognize wealth or title.
The foundation of the dual judicial system the government employs is built on sand and swamp, not bedrock.
He should have been imprisoned long ago.
@Cato, damned near choked on my coffee when I read the first line…..The lyin’ bastids know no principles. Last line says it all.
“A bedrock principle of our criminal justice system is that the law does not recognize wealth or title.”
But it does recognize a suicide by two shots to the back of the head, or the airing of dirty laundry at an appropriate time.
I remember Randy Cunningham getting it broke off in his ass while democrats that did far worse getting a pass, or mild rebuke. About time these crooks on the left faced a real judge!
I don’t think the Judge will rule in favour of Menendez as the Federal prosecutor already stated that if the Senator wanted to be absent from his trial to vote, the government had no problem with that. The interesting part is going to be when he’s convicted whether the Senate will vote to remove him from office or will the Dems stonewall any attempt to follow procedure because the Governor of NJ is likely to appoint a real conservative to finish the term. If the Dems (and a few Republicans) try to stop removal they risk a huge backlash from the middle of the road voters fed up with the Democrat tactics.
I hope football-head joins a long list of swamp dwellers on the gallows someday as just punishment for crimes against we the people.
I don’t see the word “alleged” as the judge recites the charges. Grounds for appeal?
Just hopin for a pardon? Bwhahahahaha!
