Spicer Holds Saturday Briefing and Tells the Media That They Will Be Correcting THEM

After the National Parks department implied in a deleted tweet that Trump’s inaugural crowd was anemic, and after a false report that Trump removed Martin Luther King’s bust, Spicer held a briefing and lashed out at the media, and any other agency whose agenda is to delegitimize and embarrass the president, and warned that they are being watched and will be responded to.

I like Spicer’s attitude, but I think they dropped the ball on an opportunity to respond to the smaller Trump crowd.

There were less people at Trump’s inauguration, but that’s because Trump supporters were working in order to subsidize the welfare recipients that had nothing to do but show up in DC in 2009 and hail their Sugar Daddy.

Also, try and find a picture of Obama’s 2013 inauguration crowd size. It was half of what he had in 2009, but no one talks about that.

Frankly, I don’t care how many people showed up to Trump’s inauguration. I care about Trump’s agenda, and I really want him to to focus on that.

Tweeting out that Arnold’s “Apprentice” ratings were lower than his are not my favorite Trump tweets. I really wish he would stop it.

  1. Do you complain about inaugural crowd size when you are at the CIA? Kinda weird. I love Trump but his stream of consciousness worries me sometimes.

Blast away at the media. They deserve it.

  2. @Perspective
Nice link. You can zoom and pan around.
If you pan around to the mall, 2017 looks just as full as 2009. I bet the 2017 photo above was taken before the ceremony started.
The capitol dome renovation was not scheduled to be completed by now. I wonder who motivated them to get it done ahead of schedule?
Oh – and notice the snipers on the roof.

  3. That Gigapixel photo from the link above is amazing. It was taken as Trump was speaking. The detail of people who are really far away is incredible. One word of caution:
DO NOT ZOOM IN ON ROSA DELAURA. I repeat: DO NOT ZOOM IN ON ROSA DELAURA.

  4. Having lived in D.C. it’s like any other factory town, only it’s the federal government that’s the biggest employer.

Leftist naturally gravitate to big government or end up washing up there when they can’t make it in the private sector. Therefore, you’re going to have mobs of locals when a Democrat is in office, not so much when it’s the away team.

  5. Actually this is all quite amusing. All the other pretties said nothing derogatory about the press. They were all afraid of getting into a pissing match and being held in bad light. Trump likes to keep the record straight. So, keep it going, hold their asses to the fire. The press can’t do anything to Trump. Neither can the women marching. They embarrass me wearing those pussie hats . The only ones doing the attacking is them.

  6. sometimes I don’t understand the hills that the Trump Team wants to stake their flags on to do battle

… but then again … I’m not the one that kicked everyone else’s ass to become Top Dog

  7. Considering that DC voted 91% for Hitlery to 4% for Trump, there probably wasn’t nearly as much of a local crowd for Trump’s inaugural as there was for the Soetoro coronation in ’09 (not to mention all the other points made by others here including Dr. Tar).

  8. “You thought, you thought.. you thought, you thought 8 things tonight. You’re on fuckin’ notice, journos. I gave you a list, ya got half the list that I gave you – with cues and everything on it. OK? The guys get shirts. Don’t make a fuckin’ maniac out of me.”

  9. I appreciate media-bashing as much as anyone, but I think Trump needs to pick his battles more carefully. He won the election, so the number of people who showed up yesterday is really a non-issue. Elevating it to this level makes him appear thin-skinned and petty. You can’t drain the swamp if you spend all your time swatting mosquitos. Let it go, and move on to the important work ahead.

  10. “I appreciate media-bashing as much as anyone, but I think Trump needs to pick his battles more carefully. He won the election”

It’s not really about that. It’s about setting the tone and tenor for the next four years. He NEEDS to get them off his ass. Un challenged they will continue to try and delegitimize his Presidency. He needs them on their heels.

  11. Perspective, thanks.

    How interesting!

Wow, the expressions on some of those faces!

And I did not realize that Losers Bill and Helliary had been put on the third row back. (Wasn’t it her turn to be president?) The only reason she rated a seat this close to the podium was because she had to take care of him.)

  12. All true, Vietvet, but it’s just amusing to see how fast the crowd comparison photos get whipped out. Back when the Tea Party was swamping DC, those apples-to-apples crowd shots were classified higher than satellite photos of Teheran. It’s amazing how fast the bureaucrats can move when they are motivated.

“The marching p*ssy hat girls were disappointed that his first press conference wasn’t about them. Ha!”

Lotsa truth to that! And along with the disappointment a great deal of anger. They love anger. Attn hogs don’t like to be ignored.

  14. @Bad_Brad: With all due respect, I don’t think taking their bait on these trivialities actually does get them off his ass. I think it makes them feel like they have hit a nerve, and encourages them to challenge him on other unimportant things, just to see if they can get a similar reaction. If they do, then they get to talk about how he lacks the temperament to be POTUS. Do that enough times and you also get the public wondering if that isn’t true. He needs to rise above this petty squabbling, or it could consume his time and his Presidency.

    IMHO, that is.
