Texas state Rep. Shawn Thierry, a self-described lifelong Democrat who grew up in a Democrat home, has announced that she is switching parties.
Thierry, who lost an ugly primary in May after breaking with her party last year to vote for a ban on so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors, described herself as a woman, a mother, and a lawmaker in a lengthy social media post announcing her decision to become a Republican.
“After much reflection, prayer, and soul-searching, I have come to a decision that aligns with my core values and the best interests of our beloved country,” she wrote. more
Sounds like yet another “politician” checking the wind sock….
@Ferd Berfle — I sometimes try to curb my cynicism and give people the benefit of the doubt when they declare this kind of major change, but it is MIGHTY DAMNED HARD TO DO THAT FOR SELF-DECLARED “REFORMED” DEMOCRATS.
The commies-sorry-fascists-not sorry-democrats are evil enough that I am really surprised they haven’t done this en masse and simply taken over the repukelican party. On further consideration, they may very well have done just that.
When lies and deceit are so prevalent, how can you accurately discern between honesty and nefarious designs??
I don’t trust all of these Dems switching parties.

She’s still a dem at heart. I wouldn’t trust someone who can change so easily. Ask yourself, would she have changed if she had won her primary. Hell, no! She’d still be a Democrat.

This goes back to Ronald Reagan’s “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party, the Democrat Party left me.”
We already have a RINO wing within the Republican Party. Most of those are pretty severely big-govt liberals on most subjects. Changing the affiliation does not change the person.
