Plastic bags, hard plastics used for car light covers, used with fiberglas to make boat hulls, car fenders, surf boards, kayaks. 14. @Big Momma – I was thinking something similar. Let’s go back to entire steel cars (yes, we had them when I was growing up, including the teenage years). 15 MPG, but almost indestructible. We can convert those old Edsels and Corvairs to all electric.

    What?? you want to know why those went out? The Edsel because nobody wanted them and the Corvairs because of Nader. I may be biased because my first car was a Corvair, and I never had any problems with it (thanks Ralph, I will not attend your funeral when you do kick off)

15. RogerF, my brother had a black Corvair.
    I was the mechanical one so I always worked on it.
    Climbing under the rear to get to the engine.
    I was low to the ground and the steering was fine.
    Nader was a simp.

    I think rubbery, bendy body parts/fenders would be an improvement.

    Make them so the average guy could R&R them instead of needing a repair shop for the slightest bump creating a ding.

    Be practical instead of so rigid.
