16 Comments on The Trick Is Getting The Mugger To Calmly Hold the Gun Directly in Front of You
Any ladies or anyone here carry Sig 938s in a flash bang?
When doing a ‘gun disarm’ maneuver the gun WILL be going off when you grab it around the barrel/slide and pull it out of their hand. The key is to point it in a safe-ish direction.
When it discharges in the safe-ish direction and you have it grabbed in your hand around the slide/barrel it likely will not eject the casing and load the next round properly. This means it won’t be going off again.
When you twist the pistol out of the assailant’s hand you likely will break their trigger finger, depending on how you do it. Bonus!
If you don’t have your own gun you can try and clear the gun you just took, load the next round, and use it to defend yourself. This is because the guy may have a knife or another gun.
Also with this maneuver it’s easy to hit the mag release, turning it into a paperweight.
I think I would have better luck disarming a bad guy by falling into him after he shoots me.
I plan on disarming them with my impish wit.
Aikido move. Takes more balls than skills to pull it off.
I’d fake a heart attack and while on the ground, pull my gun and shoot the dude.
I’ve never had a gun pointed at me.
never had to draw my carry gun.
but I practice all the time.
Ain’t that grand? A smiling white mugger holding a gun at you.
GTFOAH!
If your holding a gun on someone, back up a little. If you shoot the dude
your going to get blood splatter all over your wife beater t-shirt.
Blood is really hard to get out.
Remember kids stay at least 8 feet away when holding someone at gunpoint.
If it’s this dude shoot him in the leg so he can’t take your gun or pull some
other crazy ass move.
i didnt see that coming. Really, I didnt.
Jane, I use a Flash Bang, but not with a Sig. They are great holsters. Nice and comfortable.
Sig 938 Extreme with HydraShok JHP’s is sweet. Easy to carry, easy to conceal, easy to shoot, easy to bullseye… or so I’ve been told.
I would challenge him to a card game. I win I leave
Aikido, the redirection of force. Maybe at you dojo.

Thank you. Obviously I’m thinking seriously about that. I don’t like baggy clothing, so I thought anatomy might be the best camo. 🙂
I’ve had a switchblade poised right under my chin when I was about 13. My angel took care of the situation. Another time was a larger knife. I realize it was probably only an intimidation move by the knife wielder, but I’m still sure my angle took care of the situations and didn’t let the situations accelerate.
Instead of taking dude’s gun, get the working end pointed at his temple and help him pull the trigger.

No muss, no fuss.
