Breitbart: Thousands of Californians flocked to open beaches in Southern California due to a heat wave despite Democrat Gov. Gavin Newsom’s stay-at-home order.
Surfers and crowds of people were spotted along the Huntington Beach coast and Newport Beach Friday as the region is experiencing high temperatures, which will last through the weekend.
Many of the beachgoers were seen to be less than six feet apart, and many were not wearing masks. Officials are also expecting more crowds over the weekend.
“We’re trying to ask people to maybe put themselves in our residents’ position and think about the fact that our residents also have limited parking,” Huntington Beach Officer Angela Bennett told KABC. MORE

This was on a community page in Riverside California. Small business owners are struggling and their businesses are dying.
We Californians may be dumbasses (I know, I know) but I think you’d be surprised how many are itching for liberty!

The police just stepped aside when they realized there was nothing they could do and that arresting relatively peaceful people would be a PR disaster.

Not just beaches. I live in the mountains and 100’s of bikers were roaring thru town all day
Sat. But Sunday was quiet so I don’t know if they put up road blocks or what. Wouldn’t surprise me.
A lot of the beaches were officially open, although for most of those the parking lots were kept closed. I guess that didn’t work. In other areas – all of L.A. County, most of San Diego, and other towns along the coast – beaches were officially closed. I didn’t get down there, but from what I saw on Facebook LAPD was not enforcing and there were crowds, locally Santa Monica and Malibu were enforcing.
Next week will be a free-for-all, regardless of whether beaches are officially open or closed.
