Unsealed Court Docs Show How Prosecutors Tried To Rig Bundy Trial

Daily Caller- Unsealed court documents detail how the team of prosecutors tasked with convicting Cliven Bundy and his sons of crimes relating to a 2014 armed standoff failed to turn over potential exculpatory evidence to the court, The Oregonian reports.

The Bundys’ case ended in a mistrial Dec. 20 after Judge Gloria Navarro ruled that prosecutors violated the civil rights of the defendants by withholding evidence supporting the Bundys’ case. Navarro is considering dismissing the case “with prejudice” and blocking prosecutors from retrying the case. Her decision will come Jan. 8, according to The New York Times.

“There were approximately 3,000 pages that were provided to us only after we started trial,” Bundy lawyer Bret D. Whipple told TheNYT. “I personally have never seen anything like this, especially in a case of such importance.”

Those 3,000 pages include the Bundys’ requests for multiple federal assessments that showed the Bundy family was likely not dangerous. Prosecutors called the requests part of a “long list of frivolous and vexatious pleadings,” until a government witness, under cross examination, revealed knowledge of the assessments in court, The Oregonian reports.   read more

  1. There will be no end the congo line of commiecrats stalling, impeding and rehabilitating witnesses if Dan Love or any BLM/FBI totalocrat is prosecuted. Chuck Schemer will lead it.

Without all the cowboys and moolishas getting footage, the feds would have murdered the Bundys.

  2. Big government at its very worst in this situation and has happened way too often. Need serious intervention to put these bureau crats in jail along with Clintons, Obammers, and FBI/BLM arseholians.

  3. I am from the government and I’m here to help you, said nobody ever.
Unless you are a socialist/progressive former 1st lady who undermined National Security, broke numerous laws, obstructed justice, destroyed evidence under subpoena, performed favors for money, pay to play and supporting terrorist organizations.

The dreaded two tier judicial system, a lenient system for the establishment elite and an unforgiving brutal system for citizens.

  4. Huh … sposed to be shocked by this revelation?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad it’s out. But I doubt that many, other than us, will ever read or understand its import.

    We are long overdue …

    izlamo delenda est …

  5. I drive by the tiny N. Idaho town of Naples quite often on my way to Bonners Ferry, Id. where Randy Weaver was ambushed at his compound at Ruby Ridge by the Feds and his wife and son were killed by the FBI. The Feds could’ve taken Randy Weaver anytime prior to this American tragedy without letting it escalate to the point of violence and death. There was no excuse for this to have happened.

  6. I live in a frontier community where the BLM has a real presence. They are hated by the locals and what they’ve done to our ranching friends. I wish the outcome could have been better for the Hages.

  7. The Bundys may look good in the light of how poorly and corruptly the government has handled this case, however they are not my heroes. That being said, the government officials should face justice and pay for their crimes. Bundys cattle should still be removed from public land, and he should pay for his freeloading.

  8. In the ’82 SOTU msg our last conservative President said. “The government will never solve our problems … the government IS our problem!”! He said it and hew meant it! The Bundy case clearly shows “.. THE GOVERNMENT IS THE PROBLEM!”!

Bush was right when he attacked the Bill of Rights and merely a list of “government can’t! It was written to be rights for citizens; and that is precisely what it is.
