This reminds me of a story my late friend Robert used to tell. Some decades back, he was working for an international group and had to spend a fair amount of time in Saudi Arabia so he wanted to learn some Arabic.
He gave up on the idea after he had this experience. His teacher pointed to a word and asked Robert to pronounce it.
“Kkkhhughkk” said Robert.
“No” said the teacher, it’s pronounced “Kkkhhughkk”.
“Kkkhhughkk” said Robert.
“No” said the teacher, it’s pronounced “Kkkhhughkk”.
“Kkkhhughkk” said Robert.
“NO!” said the teacher, it’s pronounced “Kkkhhughkk! Kkkhhughkk! Kkkhhughkk! KKKHHUGHKK! Why can’t you infidels hear the difference!?”
