Victor Davis Hanson – – IOTW Report

Victor Davis Hanson –

Recommended by MM at a moment when I had very little time to watch, once clicked this video was impossible to turn off.  45 minutes later I am writing this post.

This is without a doubt the best analysis of who Trump is, what he represents and why he won. He also performs an autopsy on #NeverTrump that should, if they had a lick of sense, shut them up for good.

  1. Fantastic !!
I watched the whole lecture up to the Q & A, which I’ll check out later.

I’ve always known VDH is brilliant, but his in-depth views on this election are particularly insightful.
    Thanks for posting.

  2. Yes, that was worth watching. I remember a few years ago, reading a column by VDH that was similarly insightful about the mid-east and he coined a term for the whole general area that has stuck with me. He referred to the region and the various countries as “Trashcanistan”. VDH is pretty good.

  3. “We’ve all lost friends and family over this” [election].

Yeah? So what: they’re all f*cking crybabies.
How do they think WE felt 8 and 4 years ago…much less over the entire past 8 years?!?

Oh, right. They DON’T think about us. To h*ll with ’em.

  4. “We’ve all lost friends and family over this” [election].

Mom just told me BIL has flying the Flag upside down since the election.
So I will boycott his place at Christmas…

  5. VDH is a rarity in that he possesses brilliance and humility. Too many nail-on-the-head points to list.

One thing triggered a question though; tribute of Peter Schweizer’s book Clinton Cash as the catalyst for HRC demise.
IIRC Schweizer said he was working on a similar book on the Bushes that was supposed to be released prior to the primaries. Wonder whatever happened to that.

  6. Best line: “The Democrat party is now a municipal party.” And that’s why we have to keep up the local effort to oust as many downstream, municipal D’s as possible. The work is now very local, so after New Years we must find out how to either run for or support our local school boards, city councils, port commissions, etc.

Hanson calls Trump’s political instincts “animal cunning.” Okay, I guess, but that fails to credit Trump with the same native intelligence possessed by the tradesmen he earlier touted as having a superior intelligence to the WSJ statistician who is “dumb.” And *that* is the piece that is missing from VHD’s analysis of why Trump won. Simply stated, Trump was one of us despite his gilded penthouse and private jet. At bottom Trump is one of us and possesses the same “animal cunning” any one of us would (and do) employ against whatever threatens our freedoms.

  7. What a strange country we live in. You supported the guy who won the election and you felt like you needed to speak in code about it, so as not to draw too much attention to yourself

  8. SUPERLATIVE! Spot on. And, if Trump ordered CA ballots recounted after the election, it might smoke out the fakes. I wager Trump won the popular vote as well across the nation.

  9. Simply an excellent presentation, Sir Fur, so thanks very much for posting. Watched straight through and totally enjoyed every word. VDH is one of my fav writers, but as an ‘off the cuff’ speaker, quite a surprise.

  10. Mike… I’m with you! I deleted NRO from my top sites. It seemed to me, that the NRO was working for the other side. I couldn’t understand that. This guy may change that for me. Watched the whole thing, then sent it along to a few friends. Really great find. Thank you MM, and BFH!
