Walmart Giving Store Employees Body Cameras to Increase Safety

Breitbart

The move is part of a pilot program in some stores across the United States, CBNC reported on Tuesday, noting it was not clear how many stores were taking part during the Christmas season.

However, according to witnesses and images shared online, some of the locations display signs stating “body-worn cameras in-use” at store entrances.

In June, Breitbart News reported that the parent company of T.J. Maxx was giving its workers body cameras to try and stop shoplifters. see more here

  1. We used to see videos of stores locking up product and wonder about how bad that was. Well, now that Janet Mills has imported the third world into the state, theft has gotten so bad at Walmart that makeup, shaving products, and a multitude of items are locked up behind plexiglass.
Funny thing is, they’ve hired a bunch of the Africans to work there and one stands at the door checking receipts. Fox, meet henhouse.

  2. I bought some socks at Wally world recently and found out that they were locked up and had to find an employee to open the glass cabinet for me and to show them to her before I went to checkout. This is ridiculous, even the underwear has been locked up as well.

  3. Window dressing only.

This is more of a law enforcement problem than a theft problem. If the cops won’t respond or the D.A. does not file charges (or, for that matter, the judge does not spank them hard), these cameras are useless.

And since this is for “safety”, “record an event if an interaction with a customer is escalating”, theft will not be deterred at all.
