Weird – George Floyd and Cop Who Killed Him Purportedly Worked Together

KSTP– A former club owner in south Minneapolis says the now-fired police officer and the black man who died in his custody this week both worked security for her club up to the end of last year.

George Floyd and now-former Officer Derek Chauvin both worked security at the El Nuevo Rodeo club on Lake Street, according to Maya Santamaria. Santamaria owned the building for nearly two decades, but sold the venue within the last few months. 

“Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open,” Santamaria said. “They were working together at the same time, it’s just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside.” 

5 INVESTIGATES has reached out to Chauvin’s attorney and the Minneapolis Police Department, but they could not be reached for comment at the time this story was published.

I posted a link to this in the bullpen linking to new video from a different angle that shows that there were 2 more cops holding the guy down (one kneeling on his back and another kneeling on his feet) while the other cop had his knee on his neck. It also has a video (about 5 minutes) that shows the cops initially cuffing the guy and after a few minutes that were pretty non-eventful they led him over to the police vehicle and opened the doors. I didn’t see any real resistance from Floyd at all, certainly nothing that required them to kill him.

    If someone died on your property, and you were photographed with your knee on his neck, do you think you would be merely fired, and that would be the end of it, or would you be lawyering-up and facing an investigation and charges?

    That’s right, your rear-end would be in jail, that’s for sure. Why not this cop?

    “Oh, he can’t go to jail, the inmates would kill him!” –yeah so? Inmates kill pedophiles and other people all the time, but the judge still throws them in there. Maybe that would be good deterrent for future police officers to think twice before murdering people.

  16. mithrandir: We need to look back at 1992 and the Rodney King case. The charges were politically motivated and were much more serious than what were warranted by the facts. To top it all off, the prosecution did not allow for any lesser included offences. It was either all or nothing at all, and all was not in line with the facts. Consequently, they were acquitted.

    Quite frankly, I am satisfied that if, in the present case, they are wait until they get all the information in so they get the guy dead-to-rights. Then throw the book at him for as serious a charge as possible. If it is first degree murder, then give him first degree murder. But don’t rush things.

  26. It’s interesting that Floyd and Chauvin were buddy’s and Chauvin worked as Amy Klobuchar’s personal security detail. They are good actors and paid big by George Soros, Amy Kobuchar, and Joe Biden who are running scared of Trump gaining support in communities horribly neglected by Democrats! Good job boys, you were very convincing had it not been for the club owner who blew the whistle. Hope she has enough protection to fight the Democrat Party Crime Family!!! Stay safe good lady!
