Why Do They Need Pardons?

PJ Media

POLITICO broke an interesting story this evening: “Biden White House Is Discussing Preemptive Pardons for Those in Trump’s Crosshairs.”

“Biden’s aides are deeply concerned about a range of current and former officials who could find themselves facing inquiries and even indictments, a sense of alarm which has only accelerated since Trump last weekend announced the appointment of Kash Patel to lead the FBI,” wrote POLITCO.

Four names were explicitly mentioned as deserving of preemptive pardons: Sen.-elect Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Dr. Anthony Facui, and ex-Rep. Liz Cheney (formerly a Republican, formerly of Wyoming). More

  1. you can whine and cry all you want for a pardon for the things you have done then and now in this life, but there will be no pardon or forgiveness unless you confess, repent and beg mercy now before you stand before the true judge of all. But I fear most will not because they either do not believe or they think they have done nothing wrong. Judgement may not come now in this day or life, but know, it will come and then it will to late…..

  2. Preemptive pardon, that’s like admitting they are criminals and deserve punishment.
If you did nothing wrong, what are you worried about?
If it weren’t for projection, progs would have no self-awareness at all.™

  3. If they receive “pre-emptive pardons” can’t they still be tried in a court?
They may not be ultimately convicted, but at least the truth will be exposed. Maybe someone else will be exposed who participated in the crime?
Doesn’t the US citizenry deserve the truth?

  4. Even SRN news, which is not a lefty organization, told the story like this: “The preemptive pardons are being considered because there is a fear that Trump is “going to go after people who criticized him.”
That has nothing to do with it. He’s going after people who committed crimes!

  5. Just the idea of a “preemptive pardon” is a blatant admittance of guilt of some crime. So – these people knowingly committed crimes and now want to be absolved of crimes even though they haven’t been charged. This would appear to be a legal impossibility. A lawsuit should be brought on behalf of the American people to test even the concept of such nonsense. Corruption and criminal activity is so rampant among Democrats (and some Republicans) Biden would have to “preemptively pardon” 90% of DC. This is going to be an interesting clusterfuck to behold.

  6. A Presidential pardon will protect against Federal criminal prosecution, but not state or Foreign prosecution. Where crimes are International let Foreign Prosecutors know they will be extradited. State Courts can destroy both the reputation and wealth of these crimals

  7. There should never be a “preemptive pardon” allowed as part of the legal system in a Constitutional Republic. The Democrats somehow find a way to circumvent the legal safeguards intentionally created to limit government power, control and corruption.
