    I’ve made a career out of talking to robots, usually via teach pendants and HMI interfaces. Nice thing about robots, compared to humans, is THEY DO WHAT THEY’RE TOLD.

    The NOT nice thing is, they do EXACTLY what they’re told.

    Out of the hundreds of machines and dozens of robot arms I’ve worked with, I’ve only ever named ONE.

    My current car, Karen.

    She got her name because of the voice they gave her, the way she picks on feckless driving habits worse than a backseat mother-in-law, and the app they gave her so she can call me at work and complain about how I’m not meeting her needs, like the fuel is low or I didn’t lock her door…

    Feminine she is.
    Sexy she is NOT.
