BearingArms: William Weld, the former Republican governor of Massachusetts selected to be Gary Johnson’s running mate on the Libertarian ticket, just made one of the mind-blowingly stupid comments I’ve heard a politician make regarding firearms, bar none.
16 minutes and 50 seconds into an interview withRevolt TV, Weld dropped this stunning statement.
“The five-shot rifle, that’s a standard military rifle; the problem is if you attach a clip to it so it can fire more shells and if you remove the pin so that it becomes an automatic weapon, and those are independent criminal offenses,” Weld said. “That is when they become, essentially, a weapon of mass destruction. The problem with handguns probably is even worse than the problem of the AR15.”
It’s actually impressive that Weld was able to pack so much idiocy into a disjointed series of utter falsehoods.

Sooo, you had a Democrat who masqueraded as a Republican who is now pretending to be a Libertarian give his a little talk on his view on how destructive and bad guns are. I think the Libertarian Party is now having a look at their two nominees and planting their collective palms firmly in their face realizing these two guys may be a lot of things but a Libertarian isn’t one of them.
