Mark Levin Says He’s Being Targeted for Intimidation

TruthRevolt: Radio host Mark Levin told his audience Thursday that “somebody or some people” are trying to intimidate him by looking into his life and associations, and that he believes he knows who it is. “I think it’s a campaign,” said the popular host.

The intimidation campaign is focused, it seems, on the fact that the son of Levin’s fiance happens to work at Ted Cruz’s office. He points out the absurdity, which does not detract from the grotesque nature of the attempt to “silence” him, as he puts it. And he emphatically makes no apologies for his having done nothing wrong.

If somebody wants to work for a senator or congressman, they’re free to work for a senator or congressman. I’m not going to tell them not to. Or if they want to work for Donald Trump, I’m not going to tell them not to. I like all these people. I like a lot of them. It’s not personal with me. It’s philosophical with me.”  MORE

  1. That’s fine, Mark Levin. If you truly think it’s okay for people to work for whomever they wish and that associations have no bearing on your philosophical ken, then please pardon us if we wonder how it influences you and your bully pulpit. And don’t reserve this sophistry exclusively for yourself.

  2. Did Levin tell his listeners about his connection to the Cruz campaign before he unloaded on Trump?

George Will didn’t tell anyone about his wife’s working for Scott Walker when he chose Walker has the next president and called Trump a rodeo clown.

These opinion shapers have an obligation to disclose any bias and let the listener weigh the importance.

(Full disclosure – I donated to IOTW)

  3. I love how the Trumpeters jump on Levin for practically nothing while turning a deaf ear to all the questionable statements and shifty positions Trump has taken over the years.

    I don’t get it.

  4. Mark’s fiancee’s son works in Ted Cruz’s SENATE OFFICE, not for the campaign. Big difference, but even then, so what?
    No conflict of interest.
Rush Limbaugh has played golf with Trump and lives nearby. So what?

Mark has had Trump on his show and has given Trump plenty of good press and praise.
Trump told Mark that his family listens to his show and respects him.
Mark has been critical because of the disingenuous attacks Trump has made against Cruz.

This kind of shit comes directly out of the liberal playbook so give yourselves a round of applause for using their talking points.
    Bravo!

  5. That’s because you want to appear droll without WANTING to get it.

“Funny” conikidink, innit, that all this coordinated, orchestrated ANTI-TRUMP stuff is coming out ALL OF A SUDDEN in the 2-4 weeks prior to Primaries, eh?!!? Yeah, a REAL coinkidink.

  6. The son of his Lady friend works for Cruz in his Senate office as a low level staffer.

And you honestly think the staff position or salary of this lady’s young son would influence Levin’s views or allegiance?
    Yeah, Sure !

    Would it influence you?

  7. You bring up a key point. It really is part of journalistic ethics to either muzzle your own opinions or tell your audience what personal associations you have to your subject. Britt Hume also didn’t disclose his own, acutely personal antipathy for Newt Gingrich as he was tearing the presidential candidate to shreds and sowing doubts from his lofty position as senior news analyst at FNC. Bing “Sandy Hume, Britt Hume, Newt Gingrich” sometime to see what I’m talking about.

  8. Mark Levin is a talk show host paid to give his opinion.
He is a strict constitutionalist, of course he would support Cruz.
    Not rocket science.
He has also been supportive of Trump.
He has NOT endorsed anyone for president.
He owes nobody an explanation of where his views come from.
Liberals bend and shift with the wind depending on how it can advantage them.
    Mark doesn’t do that.
In fact, if you don’t trust the man you likely never listened to him in the first place.

  9. I was reading comments on a Breitbart article about this last night. I could not believe the hostility toward Mark Levin about this issue. He was totally supportive of Trump until his attacks on Cruz (as was my husband). Trump fans are acting like the left (sorry if this offends), just too vicious. It’s too much. I’m happy with either man, but I can see that, once again, the right is going to destroy its own before the left even gets to us, and we’re going to end up with Bernie Sanders, a COMMUNIST, as president, if we can’t pull it together.

  10. When Mark comes out with the “Can I say it now?” on his radio show it makes me wonder…. I mean, it’s his show. Say whatever you want. And yes, I know full well how he means it. Still…..

  11. Loco – Rush freely admits that he has played golf with Trump. THAT’S the difference.

Full disclosure eliminates suspicion. Failure to disclose raises it.

Remember – it’s not the act that destroys credibility – it’s the coverup.

  12. Please give us examples of the “questionable statements” in context with dates.

All I hear about are snippets from decades ago that Trump has since – and frequently – rethought.

Churchill said: If you’re not a liberal at 20 you don’t have a heart. If you’re not a conservative at 40 you don’t have a brain.

I know that applies to me.

  13. Oooh, the “cover up”.
    I smell another Watergate!!!
    Give me a friggin’ break!
    You guys are being disingenuous.
This is the kind of bullshit I expect from liberals.
Sad to see it on this site simply due to partisanship.
Be honest, this is indeed crap.

BTW, when I won a huge magnet on iotw, I could choose Trump or Cruz, I chose Trump because I think he can win.
So my point is, cut the bullshit and lies.
To call this a “cover up” is the most ridiculous thing I have heard all year!

  14. MAYBE they all had the same idea at the exact same time:

“it’s the last minute and last chance to stop Trump who – according to most analyses – can win and defeat the Dems, so let’s all trash him in any way possible, to show how true conservatives act!”

  15. I remember a short while ago how long-time readers/commentors had each others backs here on IOTW, even with differing opinions for the most part. Now I see soooo many of you at each others throat over Trump vs Cruz…WTF?

For a sec I though I tripped and fell on my mouse and landed at Huffpo…

If Levin were running he would have my unequivocal vote!

Meanwhile…GO TRUMP! And if someone doesn’t like that they can go pound sand!

Because I’m F’ing DONE with ALL Politicians…that’s why!
