WT: A physicist who foresees a 30-year period of global cooling says other climatologists have tried to “silence” her latest research on solar cycles.
Valentina Zharkova, a professor at Northumbria University at Newcastle in the United Kingdom, said the Royal Astronomical Society received requests to withdraw a press release on her team’s latest research pointing to a significant drop in solar activity by mid-century.
She presented her results July 9 at the National Astronomy Meeting in Llandudno, Wales.
“Some of them [scientists] were welcoming and discussing. But some of them were quite, I would say, pushy,”said Ms. Zharkova in a video interview posted Tuesday by the Global Warming Policy Forum. “They were trying to actually silence us. Some of them contacted the Royal Astronomical Society demanding behind our back that they withdraw our press release.” MORE

Although they clearly have seen a different trend occurring and now global warming is climate change which can easily be transitioned to which ever way the wind blows.
A cursory look at the current interpretation of Earth’s geologic past would certainly indicate “ice age” is where the smart money is, we are over due.

Back in the 70’s it was Global Ice Age and ideas abounded on how to keep the earth warm from pushing CO2 directly into the atmosphere to spreading black carbon dust on the icecaps to melt them. Well after the numbers came back the Ice Age crowd kind of disappeared. Things were sort of quiet until Al Gore came back from his self imposed exile. I guess he was meeting with a few climate scientists and quite a few more investment bankers to work out a plan to make Global Warming the forthcoming Planetary Emergency needed for their wallets. They pumped out an Inconvenient Truth, a left and very pliable media threw in with them and thousands of high school science teachers ran out to buy tweed jackets with leather elbows, quite their jobs and hopped onto the Global Warming Racket as consultants and talking heads for the media. The rest is history.
Now there are to many on this particular gravy train whose very full rice bowls will be broken if it gets shown up to be a con (or at least wrong) so every roadblock they can will be put in front of the few scientists that actually know what they are talking about who have a different opinion. Hell, Al Gore and his criminal buddies need to protect those huge homes, vacation homes, extra homes, private jets, bank accounts etc etc etc.
