The left continually pretends their voter base is not a solid bloc of illiterates, felons, drug addicts, illegals, and a sundry of government dependent lofos

Donald Trump talks like a 4th grader!

That’s the blaring headline at the execrable Raw Story.

Some Politico hack ran the text of one of Donald Trump’s speeches through the Flesch-Kincaid test and determined that Trump talks like a 4th grader- a very rich, successful, powerful, clever, I-can-buy-and-sell-your-entire-family-tree, 4th grader.

I’m not so much interested in this ridiculous test (someone can speak plainly and be right and just, and someone can be a complex, sophisticated lying sack of sh!t – who do you prefer?), I’m much more interested in the comments.

dumbconservatives

It amuses me that the left has convinced themselves that they are the party of intelligentsia. In their minds the left is comprised of professors with leather-patched elbows, an unlit pipe, a wall of books, and a mind like a cracking whip.

Admittedly, it really does take quite a mind to block out the fact that their voter base is comprised of illiterate inner city blacks, immigrants whose second language is spanglish, felons, drug addicts, drop-outs and people who have been generationally addicted to government dependency.

Oddly, the left usually characterizes the right as greedy corporatists, CEOs, privileged people who hold power over the easily exploitable. But that’s in Debate A. In Debate B the right are country bumpkin, dumb rednecks who could easily be exploited by the clever left if not for the big heart and innate sense of fairness the left possesses.

It would be a pleasure if the left could stick to one bigoted stereotype.

Here are some of the head-scratching comments from the “party of intelligentsia.”

That explains why he has such great appeal among Republicans. They just never progressed much past a fourth grade understanding of our government.

Well of course he talks at a 3rd or 4th grade level. How else is he supposed to communicate with the Republican base?

It likely wouldn’t matter to his supporters if Teh Donald spoke to them @ a post-grad college-level, b/c they are only going to cherry-pick out the key words that he says which they really want to hear anyway. The rest could be word-Scarahed gobbledygook, for all that it matter

Not a bad strategy when you think about it. 90% of their base is under educated, uninformed and not interested in anything but the shallow simplistic rantings that feed their anger and inadequacies. These people do not want to hear complex answers to the reality of our complex problems. They would be asleep within five minutes. They want reality entertainment with all the fictional drama. Trump is as authentic as TV wrestling of which he actually knows quite a bit about.

The significance is not in how the speaker speaks but in how the listeners hear him. The Donald’s audiences are apparently at a second grade level at best thus making him erudite and scholarly to his supporter.

When I was in second grade, I tested at an eighth-grade reading level; by third grade, I hit the tenth-grade level. It was probably higher, but the test didn’t allow for anything above that. This was before Sesame Street and PBS, when children typically had no literacy skills prior to first grade. I guess that means I could have beat all of the current Republican candidates at Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader? when I was eight years old. That does not surprise me.

  1. “The left continually pretends their voter base is not a solid bloc of illiterates, felons, drug addicts, illegals, and a sundry of government dependent lofos”

Those aren’t their voters, those are their leaders!

  2. He’s not trying to get our votes, he’s trying to make their uneducated horde understand in the most simplistic terms so they can cast a vote that may actually help their future. Yeah, I know, he just fart’in to the wind, they’ll never buy it.

  3. the smarter you are, the easier it is for you to explain complex things in simple ways.

Its funny that they think conservatives are rednecked country bumpkins. And rich fat cat CEOs. And bible thumping tea-totalers.

Really shows their priorities. Poor, city dwelling heathens are their target demographic. The last county electoral college map pretty well showed that.

  4. There is a simple, yet effective way to discourage critical thinking by common citizens and, at the same time, force them to rely heavily on the government:

Express ideas in an incredibly complex and convoluted way (see also, “Common Core Math”).

This gives the impression that basic concepts about economics, self-defense, immigration, etc., are too complex – too far above the average citizen’s paygrade – to be understood by anyone without a string of letters behind their name. The low-information populace therefore gives the responsibility for making critical decisions regarding their lives to “those who know best”.

Trump sees no danger in allowing people to think for themselves. Having no desire to keep people in a state of ignorance, Trump has the “audacity” to express these concepts in a way most people can understand.

The one thing leftists fear most is an educated and informed citizenry. Their only hope for survival is to convince the lo-fos that the leftists are the ones who “know best”, and that THIER own understanding is not to be trusted.

Otherwise, those in Washington and in the media may be seen as the naked emperors they truly are.

  5. You’re missing a whole s-load of brain surgeons in that montage. Where’s Sheila Jackson Lee? Where’s Patty Murray? Where’s Barry “57-states/corpsemen” Obammy?

  6. Donald Trump is no Winston Churchill, but he is the closest man to Winston Churchill, among this bunch of fucking politically Correct jackasses, that I can see. Ted Cruz, Scott Wilson, Ben Carson, and Carla Fiorina, are right up there with Churchill, Reagan, and Thatcher.

Plain talk is what we need. No more bullshit. Take note National Review, Erick Erickson, George Wills, etc.

Old guys like me have had enough of your bullshit. I just hope that some younger guys can cop on and straighten your asses out.

  7. Here are some of their Leftist genius messiah’s complex statements:
    – If you like your healthcare you can keep your healthcare. Period
    – If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor. Period
    – They’re just the jayvee team

  9. I’ll have to check in regularly with The Raw Scrawly next November, after we elect President Trump, Cruz, Walker or Fiorina.

The tears of anguish will be delightful.

  10. It’s not your level of education that’s important….It’s what you do with what you know. Anyway, Trump graduated from Wharton with a BS in economics……pretty impressive…..a detail often overlooked. Besides, some 4th graders can cut to the chase better than a lot of adults….so F U, Politico.

  11. Smart – dumb.
    Educated – ignorant.
    Intelligent – stupid.
    Quick – slow.

    Different words describing different concepts.

    “Educated” does NOT mean “intelligent.”
    “Ignorant” does NOT mean “stupid.”
