Luc Henry said he is helping to build 12 tiny homes located in the parking lot of Cornerstone Summit Church. Henry says when he saw the homes being built, he had to come by and find out who was doing it.
“I was talking to Aaron, the name of the Amish gentleman leading the crew, and Aaron explained to me they are here building temporary housing units for people displaced by Helene.”
Henry said it all started with a man who came to the area from Pennsylvania and saw the damage. That man went to his local Amish community and asked for help. He then raised the money to both get them here and build the sheds.
“This crew is going to come back in January to make more,” Hunt said.

A lot of the residential metal roofing in my area is done with Amish crews. They’re quick to get done and they never leave a job site that doesn’t look as good or better than they began with.

Although I applaud the Amish for demonstrating the charitable nature of the American spirit, my head swims with the possibility of our government taking just a fraction of the billions wasted on foreign aid and using that money to buy thousands (yes, thousands) of these tiny homes, mass-produced and put up in days for real Americans in need. All it takes is the will to get it done.
I live pretty much in the center of a large concentration of buggy Menonites that stretches from Bowling Green to around Barkley Lake. People mistake them for Amish but they aren’t. They are Menonites who only drive horse buggies & some tractors. They pretty much keep to themselves except for the businesses they run or helping out whenever anyone has a major problem. Then they’re out helping rebuild whatever needs it. Very quickly.
Meanwhile, Biden Administration’s FEMA has the gall to continue pretending to do something for victims of Helene by setting up office in Durham, NC.

Love the Amish. We go to Amish country a couple times a year. Yes it’s become commercialized, but they are still down to Earth, religious, common sense people with skills! If we ever get nuked, all that will be left are cockroaches and Amish and I’m wouldn’t be too sure too sure about the cockroachs!
