Beware of “Smishing” Scam This Christmas Season

Just as millions of Americans are sending presents and cards this holiday season, the U.S. Postal Service is warning about a scam sent via text message.

According to the US Postal Inspector Service, the scam is simple: Someone sends you a text claiming your USPS package can’t be delivered because some information is missing.

The scammers, according to the USPS, provide a link (which you should not click on) where they ask you to provide some personal information. More

    The USPS lost a rear sight for a Enfield Mk4 that was coming to me. It was a trainwreck.

    “What did the package look like?”

    “How the hell should I know? I wasn’t the sender.”

    “Well, we can’t find it if we don’t know what it looks like…”

    “Bullshit. If you find any package with my name on it, send it to me. It’s a tiny part, so probably a small envelope. How the fuck does that help?”
