BLM Vandalize Graceland – IOTW Report

BLM Vandalize Graceland

PJM: Remember when the debate over public places, flags, monuments, and the like was supposedly about Confederate generals? Then it morphed to anyone who ever owned slaves, which swiftly devolved to any statue of anyone who appeared to have been white and lived a long time ago. Now it’s…Elvis? more

  1. Is there a BlamTifa memorial or world galactic headquarters of evil somewheres that we Conservative folks can go visit in order to vandalize it, destroy it and burn it?

  2. This pains me!

    Elvis fan for 66 years.

Elvis was a GOOD man. Avery poor friend of his wrote a #1 hit. Friend had his car run off a cliff by “Bat Fuckers” (We called em “Revenuers” back then) and was in ICU for over a week and hospital many weeks. Sam wanted Elv to record the song. Elv said no, When I recorded Shake, Rattle Roll the world forgot that Bill Haily had the original hit. After Carl records it I will. Sam was POd.
Months later Carl recorded his song for SUN . In 2 or 3 weeks it was #1, topping many by the King! Sold over 1,200,000 in 5 weeks. Then Elvis (Sam had sold him to RCA so his version was RCA) recorded it. Sold over 5,000,000. I had friends in HS in ’58 who did not even remember that the first big hit was done by the writer Carl Perkins! Elvis was right! But also a man of honor!

    Side note.
My parents ’55 told me Elv was an agent of the Devil. I believed not! A man of God; and a god man.

I’ve been to Graceland twice, as well as SUN Records.

    OK Im olD

  3. You know, it’s kinda funny.
If an American doesn’t like something – he doesn’t look at it – or even think about it.
TV show about fags, incest, misogyny, hate, puerile humor, Godlessness, perversion, toilet doings, whatever? – just doesn’t tune it in.
Statue about someone he doesn’t really “honor?” He just walks away.

What is it about these maggots who “feel” the need to destroy everything that is beyond their understanding? The reason may be less political than psychological. The need to destroy all that is decent and clean, or even what is only vaguely perceived or understood, has to be indicative of some mental disorder.

“I’ve been to Graceland twice, as well as SUN Records.”

…I’ve only been once, but it is very clear there that Elvis was EXTREMELY pro-police, was even (sort of) deputized by Nixon, so they’d hate him just for THAT.

    https://www.theguardian.com/theguardian/2012/dec/03/elvis-presley-nixon-drugs-1986

…the author of this article says he served in no war, and that’s just not true. He was inducted for service in Vietnam, although obviously they used him outside actual combat zones for “morale” and publicity, and was drafted in 1958.

    https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/elvis-presley-is-drafted

…far as I know he never fired a shot in anger, but there’s another reason they’d hate him.

There’s also that whole “he stole Black music” thing, but every note is derivative of every other note, and any human hears a LOT of notes, so music doesn’t really have a color, it’s the collective experience of all mankind and no music belongs to any race, and to say only this race can make this music is, itself, racist.

But it’s another reason they may hate.

I found Graceland itself to be a Temple of Tacky, a Shrine to Shag, a tribute to the tastelessness of the ’70s and an icon of American Kitch, but they’ll probably say the same of my house 50 years from now, should I somehow become famous. I’m getting to ’70s Elvis fatness, so who knows, it could happen.

But taste is person and time specific, and you don’t trash an icon because you find it personally offensive.

    Unless you’re a Democrat, apparently.

All of these are possible reasons they COULD try to justify their destruction, but it’s probably NONE of those, since they don’t even try to rationalize THAT much, anymore.

Simply put, they want to destroy America.

    Elvis is America.

    Therefore, he must be destroyed.

It would not surprise me in the least if these Luddite lunatics didn’t try to destroy Graceland itself. In their hatred for all things White and American, Elvis stands tall as a White American, and so must be destroyed.

So sayeth the Democrats. I understand their Muslim minions don’t like singing either, especially GOSPEL singing, so it’d be a two-fer, for THEM…

FWIW, @an ol exJarhead, I too went to Sun Records. I saw, among other things, the piano Elvis was said to have played on in the studio, with a clear, “DO NOT TOUCH” sign on it. We were the last tour, though, and our guide was well-tipped, so he let everyone touch.

Including, to his probable regret, me.

It shames me that my piano skills are limited at best, but I did falter out the one famous song I kinda know the notes to, got a charity clap from everone led by my wife and son, and bragging rights to say I did indeed play on Elvis’ piano at Sun Records as I’m claiming even now.

    The song?

    “As Time Goes By”.

..not very Elvis, I admit, but still somewhat appropriate.

At Sun, as at Graceland, time had indeed gone by. Both were time-locked into a very different America, where they remain to this day.

But the fundamental things…God, Country, Family…still, indeed, apply.

And THAT’S what they would take from us.

    ALL of it.

And I, for one, will not tolerate it, they’ve taken too much already.

    It’s time to take BACK.

Agreed, it’s psychological. Just like Patty Hearst. I bet these grown children are all on meds. But they are just human shields. The ones behind this must pay as do their whole families.

  6. It would do the BLM some good to listen to “In The Ghetto”
    – to notice how much gospel he sang
    – to see how many black people he sang with
    etc…

Every once in a while I put on a live DVD (music not movies) of the King and it becomes very obvious that there really was no one else even close.

It is even sadder when you realize how many people exploited him and gave him very bad medical, career, personal advice.

    …Liberalism IS a mental disorder.

    And apparently, an infectious one…

…The REAL monuments to leftism are in mass graves in Russia, China, Cuba, Venesuela, Cambodia, Vietnam, North Korea, etc., etc., usw…

…and, soon, in the United States.

We have INDIVIDUAL graves now as monuments to Communism.

The MASS graves will come later.

    But they WILL come.

    It’s just what communist DO…

It is Lenin’s statue in Fremont area of Seattle. I was there on May Day in 2001 for a class and walked past it to get to Bagel Oasis and was so pissed off that I slapped the flowers out of his hand and kicked the ones at the base around the feet into the street. I ended up a little messed up but not too bad for being outnumbered.

  11. I say it’s time that our side start defacing and removing all the statues of the African explorers and sailing-men who sought new worlds, the African pioneers of Civilization who navigated the globe and charted new lands.

When will we begin doing this?

  12. My Pop, Col. Granpa, worked as a D.J. to put himself through college. He worked out of a station in Jackson Miss.

Back then, Elvis was starting to hit it big. The Bieber of his day. Ladies loved him, the men HATED him. My pop was no exception….but it was his job to play the guy.

    Soooo….

One day he decided to start a new feature on his program. First, he’d play an Elvis record. Then, he’d say something like…. “love him or hate him that was Elvis Pressley, the man who is putting Mississippi on the map. In fact, he’s so influential there’s a whole lot of Elvis imitators out there. In fact, here’s a local boy (insert made up name) playing the same Elvis tune you just heard, Take a listen and tell me which one is better.”

Then he’d play the same Elvis record….by Elvis…. and wait for the switchboard to light up.

“WHO’S THAT COLORED BOY SINGING LIKE ELVIS???”
    Or.
“DANG, THAT NEW FELLA’ IS TEN TIMES BETTER THAN ELVIS!”

And so forth and so on until it was the next guys turn at the mic. He stopped not because people caught on, but because the station manager got tired of the irate phone calls and letters. People REALLY liked or hated the guy. Not a lot of middle ground.

Truly, an epic moment in pop culture history.
