Chaos, Confusion, Apathy at the polls in Los Angeles County

Breitbart CA

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that many of the ballot stations in Los Angeles County were not set up when polls officially opened at 7:30 a.m., and many voters were turned away or had to wait in lines for hours.

One Sherman Oaks polling station was still closed at 10 a.m., and dozens who had made it there were turned away. The Times also explained that, in Malibu at Fire Station 99, many waited as long as four hours, prompting them to express their frustration on social media.

Adding insult to injury, at the Eastmont Community Center in East L.A., the one voting machine available broke down, and workers had to manually insert ballots. But there was no reason to fret, according to precinct inspector Elizabeth Mendez, because only thirty people had come in to vote, so the process wasn’t that arduous.

CONFUSION, APATHY AT L.A. POLLING STATIONS ON ELECTION DAY

BRENTWOOD — Breitbart News was on site Election Day morning at several Los Angeles-area polling stations, talking with voters and watching one candidate for the 33rd district congressional seat cast her vote.

“What’s the election for–mayor?” asked a passerby at a polling station in mid-Wilshire. “Oh well, probably nothing that will make a difference anyway.”

“I’m not American, but my dog is…hey doggie, wanna vote for no one who will make a difference?” she asked dryly.

Voter turnout in the California primaries is expected to hit a new low on Tuesday. Election analysts believe there are simply no statewide contests or ballot measures that will motivate Californians to get to the polls.

“Politicians these days just want to be important,” offered one woman, who said she was not voting. “They just make money and use that money against the people.”

  1. I voted. But I felt pretty apathetic about it too – I don’t expect any of those I voted for to win. Maybe the Kennedy kid, Shriver was actually the most conservative guy on Santa Monica City Council when he was there so I voted for him over the Socialist Keuhl. And I voted for the New Agey woman to replace Waxman, no idea whether she was even in the running. I suppose I should check…

  2. Update: Shriver lost to Kuehl, but they are the top two vote-getters so by CA rules they face each other in the November finale.

Similarly, my good friend Ben Allen (whose politics I can’t support) edged none other than Fluke, so they will face off in the Fall. My guess is that the 19% she received is everyone who would vote for her, and that Ben will demolish her in the Fall. But we may be up for some disgusting self-promotion in the next few months. As someone commented here, perhaps better that an outrageous lightning rod like Fluke get elected than someone who could actually accomplish something for the leftists.

  3. First they act incompetent and say it isn’t important anyway.
Next they act shocked that anyone noticed.
Finally they just tell you to sit down and shut up.
The time has come to water the tree of liberty.

  4. The DNC pollers must’ve figured out they were at risk of losing in those precincts; so the magic of the vote fraud machine that “doesn’t exist” comes into play again.
