CNN Is Worried Undetected Asteroids Could Threaten Earth During Schumer Shutdown

Big Journalism: Two CNN correspondents claimed during an episode of The Lead with Jake Tapper that an asteroid could potentially threaten the Earth if the government shutdown continues.

CNN correspondent Tom Foreman recalled the time NASA could not monitor “potentially dangerous asteroids” for over two weeks, implying that NASA would not be able to prevent an asteroid attack if it hit Earth while the government shut down.

  1. Off topic but, yesterday I had to redo my info every time I posted. Thought something was wrong with my device. Apparently something else is going on as other people are commenting on problems also. NSA is that you being rascals?

  3. Pew pew..pewpewpew..pew pew pew pew.

The sound of NASA’s laser as it destroys an asteroid. Sadly, they won’t hear that sound because of the gov’t shutdown. They’ll just have to play SpaceInvaders at home instead of at work with top of the line NASA equipment.

  4. sadly there are hundreds of thousands of dim witted voters that think this topic is a problem. But on the bright side, if we are impacted by an asteroid we can always claim Schumer killed us.

  5. My avatar, screen name, etc all disappeared too.
Also my bookmark icon for IOTW is still on my phone screen, but no longer works. I click it and just get a blank screen. I have to Bing to get to the IOTW website.
Happened before but not in a long time. Maybe Fur’s server was upgraded.
Or it’s those pesky Macedonian Content Farmers again.
    Just sayin.

  6. Either mankind will finish off the earth slowly, or a well placed asteroid will. I think the flash bang of a high speed asteroid would be less painful and quicker. And really who’d want to know if we had incoming.
