Coppola’s Megalopolis Has a Trailer

Visually, it’s very interesting. But will it have a story to care about? The trailer doesn’t tell me anything.

This movie is forty years in the making. FORTY.

  1. Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight are in it. Did you know that Midnight Cowboy was rated X when it was released? So was The Exorcist. The rating system had just come out, and X rated wasn’t tied to porn like it is today.

  2. Hollywood has already declared war on my world view and my way of life so it would be insane for me to support them in any way, But, I like a GOOD movie as much as the next guy so I will wait. If it gets good reviews, from reviewers I actually value, then I’ll Redbox it.

Not a fan of Adam Driver. His character was fucking that sow Lena Dunham in HBO’s Girls, series, so he failed the “dude” test.

  3. I see nothing that resonates with my experience, but I’m not a utopian always wanting an unobtainable level of decadence and seeking utter destruction for not getting my way.

Dr. Tar that is an absolute perfect definition of progressive elites. Well done!

Coppola seems to be fascinated with the concept of Utopia (either for or against) and spent almost half his life trying to portray it on film.

  5. Megalopolis, I presume this movie is based on the silent movie of the same name, which was arguable the single best movie of the silent era, I might give it a try.

Looking forward to Twisters, even though I am reasonable certain I will be disappointed, doubt very much it will be anywhere near as good as the original.

  6. OKAY so I will be seeing this film:

Coppola is 85 years old, has won numerous Oscars, directed at least five films that will live for as long as there is a civilization, and still refuses to kneel before The System.
