Maybe its the Irish whiskey, er, coffee.
Wow! Close to a commute on the Connecter, 400, 285, 85, 75 combined in Atlanta!
… & now you know why the US Coast Guard no longer has any manned light houses …
look on the bright side … at least there’s nothing boring about the commute … & there’s no traffic to put up with … switching ‘trains’ is a little tricky
Weel, that looks like fun….as long as nobody manning the zip line surrenders.
Once those guys get to their safe place they deserve it.
Why don’t they just surrender it?
OSHA would stop that in a heart beat if it could. Regulations kill business and crazy-ass fun.
@molon labe. You’re right. That process is so early 20th century.
My commute is brutal though. Walking from the bedroom to the office on the other side of the house. It’s gotta be 45 or 50 steps dodging between all the animals and dog toys Tripping hazards all. It’s downright treacherous. Ha
Worse than I-95. Worse than Bragg Blvd in Fayettenam.
putain de merde!
One word suggestion – Helicopter
I’ll say one thing. They are courageous bastards. I hope they are getting union wages.
How in the world did they build that in the first place?
Perhaps it was before Globull Warming made the oceans rise… 😉
Video. Irish Lighthouse V US Navy. Funny
Not me, buddy!
The pilot of the boat certainly had a job!
Amazing video. No snowflakes there!
Wow. Let me ponder that a moment as I sip my warm coffee.
(PS It’s great items like this that keep me coming back to IOTW)
A full shift… to do what? The light goes around and around all by itself. I hope they have wifi.
Looks like an awesome job. As long as I had my books, a guitar, and my set of brushes and paints, I’d be set.
How the hell was this lighthouse BUILT?
