Iran Claims U.S. Has Violated “Friendship Treaty”

The UN’s International Court of Justice has heard arguments by the Iranian government that the recent re-imposition of sanctions by the United States goes against a “Treaty of Amity” between the two nations signed in 1955. Tomorrow, attorneys representing the United States are expected to state that the Iranian Revolution abrogated the original treaty and that the UN’s World Court has no jurisdiction in this matter.   1. Do they have any F-14’s left that we gave them (or sold them) when the Shah was still in power back in the mid 70’s? They might be able to cobble one together from all the cannibalized parts lying around, maybe if they can find any technicians willing at the point of a gun to put them back together.

  2. The treaty ended in 1979 when they attacked our embassy and held our diplomats hostage. What rational person would make this argument? These people are batshit crazy.

  3. This ploy is just a platform to demonstrate to Iran’s allies how mean the USA is being to them. A pity ploy if you will.
    Iranians best hurry up with their revolution against the religious fanatic mullahs before someone gets hurt.
    If the mullahs or the vaunted Republican guard attempts to close the Hormuz strait it will get real very quick. There will be blood.

  4. Especially considering that the Straits of Hormuz is one of the biggest chokepoints for transportation of oil from the Middle East. I don’t see or expect the Navy or President Trump to give an inch to these madmen in Iran if they ever attempt to close these straits.
