MD- School district with only 28% reading proficiency dedicates this week to ‘Black Lives Matter’ lessons

AM: Students in Prince George’s County, Maryland are participating in a “Black Lives Matter Week of Action in Schools,” which features lessons centered on the “13 guiding principles” of the divisive Black Lives Matter movement.

Members of the Prince George’s County School Board voted unanimously to dedicate a week to Black Lives Matter at a meeting last week, becoming one of the first districts to sign up with a national movement to infuse Black Lives Matter’s perspective in schools.

“I don’t believe it’s political,” student board member Amanya Paige told Fox 5. “I believe it is a movement to encourage minorities and African American students to be proud of who they are and to embrace who they are because we live it every day. I think that it is important to understand our culture and understand where we are coming from in order to be productive citizens.”

Board member Raaheela Ahmed believes Black Lives Matter belongs in the district’s schools because it’s “something that our students and our families see every day, especially being a largely minority population.”

“We have 60 percent of our students that are African American, 30 percent that (are) Latino, and this is something that they see and hear every day – on the news and day-to-day lives. It’s something that we felt was really needed and necessary at this time.

The Black Lives Matter week comes as the district grapples with widespread grade tampering and changes to student absences that likely helped more than 1,000 students graduate who didn’t deserve to, WTOP reports. Emails obtained by Fox 5 allegedly show the district’s central office pressured schools to graduate students who didn’t meet requirements.  read more

  1. PG County is an American sh*thole. Always has been.
That’s why I wonder why they moved CPAC there. National Harbor is supposedly nice, an island in the county, not unlike those Mexican resorts where you dare not wander off the compound.

  2. Unfortunately the guest speaker for the opening night’s festivities, Muhiyyidin Moye, can’t make it (due to being shot probably in black – on – black violence in Louisiana) so he’ll serve as the fill-in for the absent father in the mix.

  3. “… encourage minorities and African American students to be proud of who they are …”

Notice that the alleged “African Americans” (euphemism for negroes) are not a “minority” in PG? So, the mexicans, laotians, vietnamese, chinks, ukraines, and other assorted “minorities” withing the negro culture of PG County will somehow, mysteriously, be enhanced and em-proud-ened by the #BlackLiesMatter movement?

    Anyone care to explain that?

Off topic, but I graduated from Oxon Hill High School and (much later) taught at PGCC. OHHS suspended Physics classes the year after I graduated and had gotten rid of Latin 2 years before. They no longer taught Marathon, Salamis, and Plataea by the time I was a Sophomore. The dumbing down (moronicizing) of education was in full swing (graduated in 71) even then.

    izlamo delenda est …

  4. “I think that it is important to understand our culture and understand where we are coming from in order to be productive citizens.”

Mutually exclusive. That culture and productive citizens.

  5. President Lazlo would be known as the ‘Press Gang President’
Anybody over 18 observed on the streets without an active Trade School ID, a provable job, or a school or active or reserve Military ID, will be pressed into service.
Homeless vagrants without mental disorders will be pressed into service.
All low level on violent drug offenses will do their time in service.
There will enormous work farms built where those pressed into service will work as farm laborers. They will be hired out to farms in the area, relieving illegal alien pressures.
Work farms in urban areas will do civic clean up and road work.
They will be fed good food, supplied with clothing and medical and dental care, and will have opportunities to complete GED and or trade schooling. Just like the old CCC
All illegal aliens swept up will be sentenced to double the time, then deported.
I intend to pay for all this by charging all personal remittances leaving the US via Western Union and the like to be taxed at 60%-75%

  6. Because it’s better to concentrate on the victim curriculum in order to keep people voting the way you want them to than to actually give them the skills they need to succeed in life so they can think on their own.

  7. Oh go ahead and let them spout their BLM political BS. It’s not as if any of the students will understand any of it thanks to the sparkling job the teachers and the School Board have done in preparing these kids for the future.

  8. I’m sure the school & students will produce an ejumakayshunal rap video at the end of the week, to demonstrate what they’ve learned.

So long as they DON’T hafta read cue cards or a script to produce it… 😳
