Meanwhile, In Italy, I Would Go Broke

An Italian court has fined a journalist 5,000 euros (about $5,500) for calling PM Georgia Meloni short.

Their contentious relationship began in 2021 when Giulia Cortese uploaded an altered photo of Meloni posing with a framed portrait of Mussolini on a bookcase. Meloni publicly shamed Cortese after she deleted the photo after discovering it was fake.

Cortese reportedly told Giorgia Meloni, “You don’t frighten me,” in an online post. ” “You’re barely four feet tall.”

In a defamation lawsuit, Meloni claimed that the joke was “body shaming.” This week, a judge found in her favor, even though Meloni is 5′ 3″, the average height for an Italian woman. (Not much shorter than an Italian man, I might add.) (So, sue me.)

My X account’s tweets would cost me millions in defamation. God Bless the USA, and all the fricken retards that live here. (Call my lawyer.)

Is it defamation to say the hub bub about Meloni’s “hotness” is way overstated?

Melania has nicer melonis.

  1. Why the hell are people so damn sensitive! Who really gives a shit if a reporter, or anyone for that matter, insults you? And why would the courts comply with this stupidity?

Weakness is a disease perpetuated by wokeness… Even though she’s a Euro-conservative, whatever that is…

I would say ‘Man Up!’ or ‘Grow Some Balls!’, but that would be misogynistic… And I would end up in court, so I will not say that.

  2. With Melania Trump a spectacular exception, I generally don’t find “classical” beauty personally attractive. So I look at other attributes and characteristics, and Georgia Meloni scores well. Fairly fit, enough adiposity to be a smooth handful, and she carries herself well. Using my scale of 1 to 10, she hits at least a 7.5 and maybe an 8 which is pretty good.

  3. She’s 47 born the year I finished high school. Unlike Uncle Al, she’s a sub-5 in my eyes. My wife who’s 12 years older, mother of two, proud but not vain enough for botox/diets/surgeries, is WAY hotter. Not that it means bupkis.

And Meloni’s lawsuit was childish. The reporter didn’t call her short in height, she called her short in character. And resorting to a lawsuit, prime minister short-stature, proved the reporter correct.

  4. Gotta weigh in on this one last time. Some ones decided she was an Italian Sex symbol. Sophia Loren is probably still more attractive, after you dig her up. And obviously she’s buying into it, or they’re would be no prosecution. This is why women should not be in politics. Lady just do your job. Little Brad’s not even waking up for that weak shit.

  5. Sounds like Italian jurisprudence is as rife with corruption as ours.

“You’re barely four feet tall.” doesn’t even rate as a weak insult.
And where dafuq is the “body shaming?” And why is that actionable?

Italy is so fucked – but then, it’s part of the rotting carcass formerly known as Europe.

  6. For 47, not bad at all. Small busted is not necesarily bad (depends on how she carries it) and the rest is quite nice.

Skinny minnie is usually not that attractive (despite all the bellowing its partisans (defensively) make) and she carries her flesh quite nicely.

Bathing suit screams fat old lady but it could be the gov of MI.
