Roger is in pain today.

His buddy Merlin is not doing so well.

“It is a bad day for me. Merlin is being put down today. I am glad I have had the time I have with him. I know he will be in a better place.” -Roger

    A loss that exceeds most others.

    Keep saying no more and then there’s still too many to be rescued.

  4. My condolances Roger. I recently went through the same with my Daisy.

    It’s always difficult losing a family member (all my cats were and are family). I wish you well.

  6. Very sorry to hear about Merlin, Roger. From experience, I know the pain and know eventually eases. But that doesn’t help much at the moment. You’ll be in Dixie’s, Killer’s, and my own thoughts today.

  13. So sorry for your loss. I know the pain of coming home with just a collar after needing to put down a beloved pet that was poisoned by a neighbor.

    I found my Ninja Kitty mauled to death in my front yard last Saturday morning.

    I will say a prayer for your comfort and peace.

    I don’t wish either way to lose a pet on anyone.

  25. Roger, sorry to hear about your precious Merlin. He was beautiful. Our pet family members keep us sane in an insane world.
    Be comforted and at peace knowing he was loved and you’ve done the best for him.

  26. I feel for you Roger. It is an emotionally painful thing to go through.

    Having a pet (or two or three) is a wonderful experience in life, especially when your pet looks at you with total love in its eyes.

  32. I’m glad you made this post. My 16 year old white fluffy dog is going through the end of his life. It’s a mess for me but he still has some life left in him. I just don’t know when if ever its the right time to put him down. Any comments would be appreciated

  33. You know the day will come and you expect you’ll be strong for your animal partner, but it doesn’t make it any easier when you do what you have to do.

  39. I’m sorry Roger. I’ve had to say goodbye to a couple of my best furry buddies the past few years and it was hard. For what’s it’s worth their memory still brings me smiles and thankful they shared their time with me. I’m fortunate as are you.

    For everyone, yes, I am getting s***-faced tonight. I will be getting one or two cats after my trips, so look for pic or paintings after the vacations
