House Prepares for TPA Re-Vote.

Updated: 5:51 p.m. | The House is set to vote Thursday on Trade Promotion Authority, with GOP leaders employing procedural maneuvers and indirect promises to make sure the bill eventually gets signed into law.

Pro-trade lawmakers are moving ahead with a vote on TPA without Trade Adjustment Assistance, which aids U.S. workers displaced by international trade.

The success of their plan hinges on whether Democrats who voted for TPA will still support that measure without immediate certainty they’ll also get TAA, which trade opponents voted down on June 12 to derail the entire package.

  1. If O won’t sign, then why is Boehner wasting everybody’s time. Or will he find a way to weasel in the TAA later?
I looked up NAFTA – do you know it was a H W Bush treaty? He ran out of time getting it ratified so Slick Willie had to finish it for him. Now you can buy an American car built in Mexico or a Dell computer “Assembled in Mexico” – says so right on the box

  2. If you’re smart you’ll buy your ammo now before the prices go through the roof upon its passing. An educated and cynical guess tells me there’s backdoor gun control and immigration reform written into the bill that when passed will give the Marxist in chief the most powerful pen ever.
