We run this once in awhile. Since it was the anniversary on the 25th, and given the current crop of American-hating leftists running for the presidency and filling the halls of congress, we decided to run it again.
The flag burners were William Thomas, 36, of Missouri, and his 11-year-old son. They were arrested and fined $60.
Thomas was unemployed and opted to stay 3 days in jail instead of paying the fine.
His reasons for burning the flag were never really made clear.
Rick Monday still has the flag and was offered 1 million dollars for it. He declined the offer, saying, “what the flag represents you can’t buy.”
Rick Monday should be in the Hall of Fame for that play!
He got the flag away from those 2 turkeys unscathed and I wish that Tommy Lasorda would’ve flattened their asses for that.
I happened to be at a Dodger game last year on April 25 and they played the video on the jumbotron.
Rick Monday went to my high school in Santa Monica, and although he was a Cub that day he later returned to his home town Dodgers.
Here is another interesting play, for different reasons.

Monday Monday, so good to me.
I would have stopped the game long enough to sing our National Anthem or God Bless America. Thank you, Mr. Monday.
I liked the message on the board.
Mr. Monday is very humble about the whole thing, as people who do something special generally are.
He had also been a member in the Marine Reserves if I remember the story correctly.
Will the fans did start singing God bless America.
Love My Cubbies…and this move by Rick.
Cubs vs D’Bags at 4:10 Eastern….Channel 216 on XM…
Shoulda come back and beat the adult stupid.
joe6pak, that very skillful catch reminds me of the movie, “It Happens Every Spring.” A notable play for a baseball player to be esteemed for in sports news. So much, much better than being in the news for disreputable behavior in more current sports news.
Belies the liber lie (told by: Bush, Rove, Romney….) that Don is responsible for America hatred. 65 years agowhen I was in grammar school there were many America haters who were well known and popular( M. Brando (Stella!), H. Fonda…)
