Residents in Seattle, Washington, plan to stop tipping as a minimum wage hike in the Democrat-run city looms.
The city’s minimum wage is supposed to go from $19.97 to $20.76 an hour on January 1, the Daily Mail reported on Friday.
Tipping workers on top of the approaching hourly rate hike does not appear to be a popular idea with some residents who have said they will no longer be shelling out the extra money for workers. more
I stopped at a fully automated car wash, made my selection via the terminal and was prompted to select a tip amount. Just who am I supposed to be tipping? This nonsense has to stop.
My first full time job in 1973 paid $2.35/hr, a little over minimum wage. Adjusted for inflation that’s like $19.00/hr now. Our money has really been devalued in the last 50 years. Fiat currency.
I’ll give you a tip: Don’t look for one.
Only Customer’s should be tipped!
I’ve never worked a job in my life that involved tips. If I had, I guess I would have gone out of my way to earn a good tip. Working with the public sucks so I avoided it. I never expected to own a home and have a family or a retirement working a job where tipping was involved. I was always planning ahead to make the most money I could and have good benefits. I made lots of sacrifices in my life and I get really pissed when I hear young punks bitching that they can’t have what I have while working at Starbucks. Life isn’t supposed to be that easy.
I wonder if there is some connection between the minimum wage and homelessness.
