An “Accidental Dolezal” Still Maintains She’s Black

Texas woman who grew up with black adoptive parents who told her she was light-skinned African American finds out she is actually WHITE after tracing her birth mother at 70-years-old

White Texas woman believed she was black for 70 YEARS because her adoptive parents told

Verda Byrd, of Converse, Texas, was adopted by black parents as a child and only found out her birth parents were white at the age of 70 – but insists she is no Rachel Dolezal – the white woman who has recently been outed for living as a black woman. While she was shocked by the revelation, Mrs Byrd said it does not change the reality of her heritage – that she was raised by two black  parents (pictured together-inset) and considers herself black. ‘I grew up not questioning birth or anything else because it was never told to me that I was born white,’ she said.

Snip!

Her believing she was black is understandable.

She has the same look that causes some historians to speculate that Babe Ruth was black.

  1. She’s doing this for attention with a long term plan for a book deal that she won’t even write.
It’s all about attention and money for doing nothing.

If she wants attention, I say beat the shit out of her on live tv until she admits she is white.

  2. Actually, yeah, some do. My friend’s boyfriend had blue eyes and it turns out his great uncle had them, too.

It’s awesome that people adopt children and raise them as their own, but it really bothers me that a lot of times, the children aren’t told who they are, who their bio parents were, and if they had brothers and sisters – and when they’re told, finally, it’s often way too late in life.
I feel bad for her and her siblings that she was seperated from.
I hope there’s more honesty and information nowadays for the adopted.

  3. BTW, I don’t think there’s any speculation about Ruth, due to the deep brown color.
Of course there’s also the peanuts, and that delicious caramel and nougat… Oh, wait – you said BABE Ruth. Never mind…

  4. It wouldn’t bother me if Babe were black. After all the current HR king, Hammerin’ Hank is black. Barry Bonds can go eff himself. Just for the record Roger Maris still holds the single season HR record, all the rest were ‘roided up a-holes. Just my opinion and sorry for the off topic rant…

  5. My school bus driver in middle school, a negro fellow by the name of Davis [Mr. Davis – we never called our bus drivers by their first names], had blue eyes. Good man. Owned his own bus. Saved my life once.
