NYP— BURLINGTON, Vt. — Officials say vandals burned, decapitated and cut the feet off the namesake statue that had sat outside a Ronald McDonald House in Vermont.
A smiling Ronald McDonald statue occupied a bench outside the Burlington home for years, welcoming sick children and their families who need to be close to the University of Vermont Medical Center.
Executive Director Kristine Bickford tells WPTZ-TV that volunteers moved the remains of the statue into storage because children were traumatized upon seeing it. more

There’s a joke in here someplace about a happy meal but I’m too beat to come up with it. So who ever does come up with it, it was my idea first. Sorta.

The joke this reminds me of is about the patient in the hospital who was in for an operation on his foot. Afterwards the doctor comes in to tell him about the results and says:
“Sir, I have some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first?”
Patient: “Gimme the bad news first”
Doc: “Well we made a terrible mistake in the operating room and accidentally amputated both of your feet”
After the patient calms down and gets over the shock of this he asks:
“Doc! What could possibly be the good news?”
Doc: ” Well your room-mate over there wants to buy your shoes”
The vandals wanted to help the presidential candidate from their home state by getting rid of his political competition.
Unfortunately, they mistakenly thought his first name was “Colonel”.
That’s a grocery sack. I know, I know – a bowling bag is a more appropriate container for a severed head. This is Vermont we’re talking about.
