Answering a question during the CNN town hall tonight, Bernie Sanders took on Hillary Clinton’s experience as a reason why she should be President of the United States.
Mr. Sanders said that it was inarguable that Ms. Clinton has a lot of experience, referencing her years of Secretary of State.
Standing to talk to the crowd, Bernie Sanders said, however, that “experience is important, but judgement is also important,” adding that “Cheney had a lot of experience too.”
“Experience is important, but it is not the only thing,” he repeated.
Before answering this question, Mr. Sanders explained why he feels that his judgement is better than Ms. Clinton’s.
“On day one, I said the Keystone Pipeline was a dumb idea,” he said. “I fought against Wall Street… See where Hillary Clinton was on this issue.”
“The truth is” that Hillary Clinton got the vote about the war in Iraq wrong, he also argued.
Mr. Sanders did say, however, “I like Hillary Clinton and I respect Hillary Clinton.” The fact is, he continued, is that he believes he has shown better judgement that the former Secretary of State.
