Comity, collegiality, they are as dead as disco. Cooperation only works when the other side is open to cooperating. They have revealed themselves, their intentions, their lack of honor, so be it.
It’s really simple, Mitch will count the votes, if he has enough then he will go forward, if not, he won’t. But the sooner our side clues in that the other side has no rules, the better. Save your good manners, your courtesy, and your compassion for your family, friends, and constituents. The other side would prefer you dead or at least silent and impotent, don’t give them the satisfaction.

Does Blumenthal even have a DD 214, an honorable discharge from the military. I honestly don’t know. There is a great veteran sponsored T shirt company selling T shirts to veterans on the internet that has one that says in big bold letters that ” I may be an old man but I have a DD 214.” I want one and the Popeye Navy T shirt with a buff Popeye saying, “I yam what I yam” on it as well as a proud Navy veteran.
