Speaker Johnson informs House GOP that Trump wants to pass only one reconciliation package

JTN:
House Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday told the House GOP that President-elect Donald Trump wants a single reconciliation package, pushing back against the two-bill plan that other Republican lawmakers are seeking.

Johnson said this during a private meeting on Capitol Hill, sources told Just the News.

Trump referred to the single reconciliation bill as “one big beautiful bill,” according to The Hill.

  1. “Pork” is a hard addiction. Breaking that addiction is something no one in DC is willing to commit to. Hopefully the electorate will bring the cure; primarying those that are too weak to try.

This should be fun. Elon and GROK will let us know exactly what’s being sneaked in. They WILL NOT be able to hide this shit any longer. There’s going to be lots of pissed off crooks in D.C.

  3. Watched Johnson being interviewed by Baritoromo this morning; his first since re-election as Speaker. I really appreciate how Maria keeps interviewees on the question, because as soon as Johnson started veering off with vague rhetoric, she pushed him right back on the question. Two things that make me queasy: I don’t trust him after the past couple of months’ performance. And I detest phrases like “a lot of moving parts” — which he used frequently. However, he finally got into substance and he, along with — of all people — Lindsey Graham, sounded like they were very much on the same page. Graham said unequivocally that he was ready to vote on all of Trump’s nominees, and that his number one priority was closing the border and deporting illegals. All-in-all, I was encouraged by what both men had to say. Baritoromo also included remarks from 3-4 other Repubs and each of them were enthusiastic about how solid the entire Republican congress is united over the MAGA agenda. The main concern is inter-party in-fighting with rep holdouts whose district promises have a larger priority than the top MAGA priorities.

Johnson and Graham talked about the special meetings they’ve all been in as an entire group this weekend in D.C. (for 8-9 hours, Johnson said), where they started working on a CR bill that would cover all of the top MAGA issues, having it ready for Trump’s signature by the 1st week of April, so that it made it into the first 100 days and well ahead of the mid-term campaigning.
