AMN: U.K. contractor Inchcape Shipping Services Holdings Limited has agreed to pay $20 million to settle a lawsuit alleging the company intentionally over-billed the U.S. Navy under contracts for ship husbanding services.
The marine services contractor violated the False Claims Act, the U.S. Department of Justice announced this week.
The Navy ships were located at ports in southwest Asia, Africa, Panama, North America, South America and Mexico.
The lawsuit alleged that from 2005 to 2014, Inchcape submitted intentionally inflated invoices for goods and services, and in some instances even double billed.
New Trump Sec. of Navy, Aug, 2017. More winning.
Just one of very, very many who have been fleecing the taxpayer for several years now. So common a practice that it seldom raised eyebrows at the Pentagon. Often the officers in charge of the dispersing were in on it. Now that Trump’s in office there must be some extremely nervous thieves.
There’s as much waste/fraud in DOD as other govt agencies, and while I’m all in for supporting the military, it sure would be nice to have better stewards of our money.
Who doesn’t support recouping stolen funds, but this is essentially double taxation. Govt taxes us, loses the money by fraud/waste, recoups & keeps money, asks Congress for more money. Same thing with bank bailouts. I’m beginning to wonder if we’re being scammed!
Somebody didn’t get her check.
Links to the Clinton Foundation? They got the contract somehow.
Nothing happens by coincidence. NOTHING.
(in gov’t, that is)
