Vintage Critters, Part 1

Images from:

1) Agatha Kakalogical – Our Shetland pony Lady and her colt Kaboobie from 1971.
2) Agatha Kakalogical – My 15 year old mom Gail and her beloved Buttons from 1951.
3) Agatha Kakalogical – Frankie, left, and Midnight Rambler from 1981. I have many fun memories of the wiener dogs we had over the years.
4) Beachmom – My daughter at 2 yrs old with Sasha.
5) Beachmom – Me at 2 or 3 yrs old with my dog Rusty.
6) PHenry (Ernest T) Freshly shaved Ernest T and his little friend. A long hair that had a serious fur matting issue. How did my cat get his name? I got a call from a friend that worked at a local veterinarian about a kitten that got run over and had a tough early life. She brought him in the room and he bounced off the walls. A crazy man. It’s me it’s me it’s Ernest T!!!
7) Rando – HouseCat#2 (RIP)
8) SNS (Mini)
9) SNS (Cyrus)

  2. Thanks, Lady C, for the weekly break in the madness, and for posting two of my fur buddies that crossed the Rainbow Bridge too soon.

Cyrus was a runt, tossed about by a Rottweiler in the house he was raised in and given to my wife before she was my wife so Rocket wouldn’t kill him. With her love and care he grew into a monstrous (for a Chihuahua) 12 lb. whopper you see here. He was a fierce protector of her and lived a good 15 years, long enough for us to marry and have a child who got his first lesson in loss from him. He probably could have lived longer, but a bad dentist in one place and an absent one in another led to him being called to the Lord’s field from a blood infection.

He never met Mini. Mini was a spindly little lomg-legged girl who never broke 4 pounds, but it was 3.75 lbs of sheer will, forcing even boxers and pits to bow before her. She was a rescue of sorts too, she came to us from a family member who had a kid that tried to hug her to death, but the Lord shared her with us fo4 13 of her 14 years and she was quite a force of nature until sheer age took her home, passing peacefully in my wife’s arms. Fur did a magnificent painting of her so we have a wonderful memory frozen in time that captures her well, You can see that work here, if you’re interested.

…I have other pets that need his treatment, but I’ve been enjoying Bidenomics lately so it hasn’t been practical and I won’t insult him by offering less than it’s worth; but once things turn around, I’m going to have a group done so all my babies that weren’t able to be together in life can be together on my wall, as a tribute to God’s continuing love shown through His smallest of creations.

Thanks for sharing these memories today.

    God bless,

  3. I still remember my grandmother’s dachshund Fritzel from when I was 3 or 4. Fritzel would put up with me because I snuck him scraps under the table. I caught hell from grandma though.
