I’ve encountered these morons “in the wild.”
They are classic “useful idiots.” Many of them are on the right.
Nobody likes to give themselves credit for this kind of messaging success, but progressive groups did a really good job of convincing people that Trump raised their taxes when the facts say a clear majority got a tax cut. https://t.co/tcZFr8l9Ck

Matty Yglesias continues to be one of the dumbest pundits on the planet, saying out loud what the progressives surely wanted to keep a secret.
.
If you take $10,500 from me annually and I get a $500 refund, I am not paying more if you take $9,000 from me and I don’t get a refund at all.
Because words. Refund means I overpaid and the government got an interest free loan.
The Left talks about declaring Election Day a federal holiday and I agree in principle. Provided we make Tax Day the day before Election Day and you present proof that you paid your taxes along with your photo ID.
I imagine the average person thinks a tax refund is the government just giving them money.
It’s true, a couple of my own relatives believed we got a tax increase, and I ‘spalined it to them. They were skeptical because…. smaller tax refund and TV. They didn’t connect a larger paycheck to lower withholding and stuff.
Not tired of helping them understand winning.
I calculated a $4,000 tax reduction for me and my wife so I went and bought her a used convertible for $8,000 (two years worth) that she loves – and that has paid tremendous dividends for me – if you know what I mean.
Thanks Donald Trump.
I love it when people feed me a bull shiff line. I give them a deer in headlights look and say “oh i get it now
” then they ramp it up and walk away believing their own bull.I get a kick out of it.
I get more in my paycheck, and my tax return was average. Thanks, President Trump!
I’m self employed. What’s a refund?
Musta only surveyed Millennial college grads.
Sounds like has admitted something he was loathe to admit, is backpedaling, and calling it a victory for progressives.
Perhaps someone is ready to lower the boom on Vox’s credibility.
Could this tax reduction be anything other that a win for Trump?
