Washington insiders – gun control legislation unlikely under Trump

NOQ: In the midst of the new demands for gun control, Axios was able to contact insiders in Washington to get their opinions on whether Trump would join Congressional Democrats and call for gun control legislation.

Steve Bannon, the former White House Chief Strategist, who has vowed to fight for Trump from outside D.C. shared his thoughts with Jonathan Swan of Axios,

“I asked Steve Bannon whether he could imagine Trump pivoting to the left on guns after the Las Vegas massacre. ‘Impossible: will be the end of everything,’ Bannon texted. When asked whether Trump’s base would react worse to this than they would if he supported an immigration amnesty bill, Bannon replied: ‘as hard as it is to believe actually worse.’ “

There are two reasons that Trump is unlikely to pass gun control legislation. The first reason is that sources near the President say that Trump would lose the support of his base, and according to Roger Stone, “he knows it.”

  1. Can’t even count the number of times Trump said on the stump that he will protect the 2A. This article tries to paint him as a pol with concerns about losing his base. He IS the base.

  2. PDT already said he will talk about guns later. Right now the gun-grabbers are sucking up all the oxygen because they have to get their licks in before the facts are in. When the truth comes out about the shooter’s motivation and allegiance–and it will come out–they will all faint like the front row of an Obama rally in July. Then, PDT will shift the focus to where it belongs and calmly tweet that existing gun laws are more than sufficient.

  3. It would be more productive to talk about left control. Their hate and violence, supported by democrat legislators and the media has made it acceptable to hurt, maim and kill patriotic and normal Americans.

  4. Gun control works so well in Chicago, Las Vegas, San Francisco (ask Kate Steinle), LA, New York, Zimbabwe, France, England, Spain, Mexico, Zaire, South Africa, and among the Jews of National Socialist Germany that we may as well try it nation-wide.

Tyranny is never secure over an armed people.
Oh, wait, I forgot … socialist tyranny is OK …

    izlamo delenda est …

  5. I heard some more fake news on the radio this morning, claiming that Tillerson tried to resign in July, calling PDT a “moron”, but he was talked out of it by others. I reckon this tidbit is to comfort anti-trumpers and drive a wedge between PDT and his staff, but as usual, nobody is attaching their name and reputation to the smear. Just more “unidentified officials” and “sources close to the matter”.

  6. Not sure how National right to carry would’ve helped in this circumstance although we definitely need it. The real blame for this thing is the left and their hatred for the right, you know the group that is anti-hate that hates us.

  7. we all know that sooner or later they are coming for your guns.

if they have to wait for 8 years they don’t care, it will be an ongoing issue to attack with while they wait.

one side will have to be completely victorious if this issue is ever to be settled.

and global government cannot allow it’s citizens (tax farm animals) to be armed.
