“We got a fresh shovel full” – You Certainly Do

Black Activists start digging up Civil War general.

TheAmericanMirror –

A group of anti-Confederate protesters aren’t happy enough with the declaration by the city of Memphis that it wants to dig up and move the remains of Confederate general Nathan Bedford Forrest.

They want it done now.

A group surrounded a shovel Wednesday and ceremoniously removed a chunk of grass and soil.Forrest grave protesters

“We are going to bring the back hoe, the tractors and the men with the equipment to raise Bedford Forrest from the soil of Memphis,” Isaac Richmond with the “Commission on Religion and Racism” declared to awaiting TV cameras, CBS 3 reported.

He believes if the general who died 137 years ago can just be eliminated, that will really help things.

“If he’s gone, some of this racism and race-hate might be gone,” he said, shovel in hand. “We got a fresh shovel full, and we hope that everybody else will follow suit and dig him up.”

Others see their actions as little more than destruction of property.

  1. “If he’s gone, some of this racism and race-hate might be gone.” Did he seriously say this with a straight face?

Where do these losers go to school, the Joe Biden Academy of Logical and Critical Thinking?

  2. Apparently these “people” don’t know what Nathan Bedford Forrest did FOR their ancestors. The fact that his was the largest funeral in Memphis until Elvis and that the black population were the ones that worked to dedicate that grave, monument, and park. When he died, the black population openly wept because they had lost their benefactor!

  3. Reb –

May I call you thusly, or should it be Mr. Pirate?

As we all should know from my occasional posts here, I am diametrically opposed to anything “politically correct”.

However, Lt. Gen. Forrest was anything but a “friend” of those enslaved – it is a matter of fact that he made a living by engaging in the trading of same.

I have no idea why his passing was marked with anything more than riotous enjoyment by the black folk of the day.

Digging up his rotted corpse will not, in any way, help to cease the racial war the current occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. is working so hard to create.

  4. Nathan Bedford Forrest, a name that struck dread to his enemies and which was revered by his men. He was arguably the greatest cavalryman during the War of Northern Aggression (or what is commonly known as America’s Civil War). There were many other notable cavalrymen, like the dashing J.E.B. Stuart, John Mosby, Wade Hampton, John Hunt Morgan and Robert E. Lee’s nephew, Fitzhugh Lee. On the Union side, George Armstrong Custer, the youngest Brigadier General, was a bold and often reckless cavalryman and John Buford, who probably saved the Union Army at Gettysburg. All were great horseman who feared no danger and did great service for their respective armies. However, Nathan Bedford Forrest stands alone. His exploits created a legend in both the North and the South.

Nathan Bedford Forrest defended his homeland and never asked his men to do anything he was not willing to do himself.
He defended his homeland against an invading Federal Army. Controversial? Only by those who don’t take the time to study the man, his life and his time. Nathan Bedford Forrest was An American Warrior, arguably the greatest Calvary man.

In this day and time, if the Federal Armies directed by Obama invaded your state, counties, cities and towns, what would you do?

I would look to men of action who displayed the character leadership and tenacity of General Nathan Bedford Forrest.

Unplant this True American Warrior and thousands of men and women like Forrest will grow from the ground he so honorably defended.

  5. I have finally figured out what problem the “blacks” have. It’s not their fault but they are stuck with it.
It is the main mistake that today the blacks actually believe that in 1861 the people of this country actually give a shit enough to actually fight a Civil War just to free them. They been told that over and over. They actually think they WERE THAT important then and therefore today still think they are that important. The War was not for them and they can’t see that……..

  6. “The North was mad & blind; it would not let us govern ouselves. And so the war came, and now it must go on till the last man of this generation falls in his tracks, and his children seize the musket & fight our battle, unless you acknowledge our right to self government. We are not fighting for slavery. We are fighting for Independence, and that, or extermination.

    President Jefferson Davis, C.S.A.

  7. As I’ve said before over 600,000 men died on both sides in fighting the Civil War. The Civil War has been over for 150 years, get over it progtards. We, this current generation are not responsible for the past. Our forefathers including some of my relatives on the Union side and some Confederates on my paternal Grandmothers side paid a hell of a price to end slavery. Let bygones be bygones and thank your lucky stars that we ended slavery in such a way. And if anyone still deserves blame it’s the democraps who keep resurrecting the past and enslave blacks to this day with their so called enlightenment and social policies.

  8. One cannot judge men from another time using the mores of today.
    More Negro Vaudeville.
A long, long time ago in a dive bar in Savannah, I was told by an old Southern Gentleman: “You take this home with you, Yankee Boy, the South WILL rise again”
Forty years later I see their point.

  9. must be government employees. 6 men, one shovel.

Yesterday i read where the civil war was fought over taxes. The south wanted to secede but Lincoln was afraid of loosing 75% of the federal tax base via the tariffs from goods coming in through the souths harbors. Wish i could remember where i found that.

  10. Hell, I thought they bought their black hoes with them? Anyway…. they’ll keep this sort of provocations up because they want this crap on TV and in print in order to keep the chains of guilt around the necks of the general white population that started to slip more and more after each of Obama’s and his minions, (not the cute ones) outrage against the constitution and the people continued. These chains have been carefully put into place over the decades by liberals and have been used very successfully to control the people and the left won’t let them slip off without a fight.

  11. Another empty, meaningless gesture.

    Like:

    “Hands up, don’t shoot.”
    #BlackLivesMatter
    “I can’t breath.”
    “Gone to soon.”

The morons will feel good for a moment or two.

  12. Some white Massa Democrat like Biden must’ve pointed at all the Confederate’s graves and said, “Dey gon put y’all back in chains!!”.

Will this be the next “Work Projects Administration” like in the Great Depression, jobs digging up all Confederates? They’re going to wear themselves out, if they think they’re going to dig up ALL confederate graves in all states. I would not be surprised.
